Large, elegant, 1 bedroom apartment, a very short block from St Charles in the heart of the Garden District, close to Parade route and streetcar. We are a short trolley ride or a long walk from the French Quarter, and just a couple blocks from Commander's Palace, and Magazine Street.

This apartment is fully furnished, including linens, all utilities, satellite television, & High-Speed Wireless Internet. It also features central heating and air-conditioning.

With some of NOLA's finest restaurants within spitting distance, we cant imagine why you would want to cook. But if you do - we have you covered, quite elegantly as well! The newly remodeled Kitchen includes gourmet quality pots, pans, plates and utensils; and a refrigerator with water and ice in the door, a new range, dishwasher and garbage disposal. It also features a new combination washer/dryer; or if you choose, there is a wash and fold laundry service conveniently located nearby.

There is a four-poster bed in the large bedroom; and a newly added leather sofa queen sleeper (sleeps 2) and love seat set in the living room. Magnificent 10' high pocket doors provide privacy between the bedroom and living room, so this spacious one bedroom unit really has the feel of a two bedroom apartment. Plus the newly renovated bathroom features a spacious whirlpool spa tub, a perfect way to unwind after a full day of Crescent City indulgence...

For groups or large families, note that a large 3 bedroom apartment, VRBO, #221314, and a 2 bedroom apartment, VRBO, #251003 are also available in the same building.

In order to properly clean and prepare the units for all guests, we ask that you please adhere to the check-in time of 4pm and check-out time of 11am. Lovely place!

This place is lovely, well located and well equipped. Lots to do within walking distance, and less than one block to the trolley. Lauren, the Property Manager, was very responsive to the questions we had. Don't miss dining at The Commander's Palace, a short walk and possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to. (Best to make reservations before you leave!).

We rented this whole house including the 1-bdrm and 2-bdrm suites for a one-week workshop and we will book it again. When you are reserving a space like this for the first time and having paying clients come to stay, there is always a bit of apprehension. While the stay was not trouble-free, I don't look for perfection but I do look for people who are good at communicating and do everything they can to work things out for their guests. I have to say Lauren, the manager, was attentive and responsive with the issues we had including coordinating various arrival dates into the different spaces we had booked.

The biggest issue we had was with the heating during what was by all accounts, a very cold spell in NOLA. In this space, I found an extra comforter in the main house and brought it down and it was fine. The other issue is with the door key codes. There was a mix-up with the codes in the communications and also once we were there but it was all sorted out very quickly. There was also a newly installed light fixture that gave us some problems but nothing earth-shattering.

Like the main house, the pictures do not do justice. I booked this space for our guest workshop presenter and I am sure I am in his good books for life :) This apartment is just as grand and elegantly decorated as the main house with an incredible kitchen and renovated bathroom. This is the space I would rent for myself if I was not booking a workshop. I know one does not come to NOLA to spend time inside but this is sure a nice place to retreat to at the end of every evening.

I booked the entire house and will leave a review on the other two spaces if you are interested. Thanks Lauren for taking good care of us. Hope to see you soon!

As beautiful as the pix

We recently stayed in this apt. It had the nicest kitchen of any rented apt we have ever stayed in. The location is great. The lock system on the front door is very convenient for renters. My only request would be to have a list of the TV channels. It took a long time to get the TV on and then to find a particular channel. Otherwise it was great.

If you liked the simple, yet secure automated digital door locks, you will find the new ones we just installed even more convenient, and even easier to use. We are committed to strict standards of safety and security, as well as providing our guests with a spotless and well maintained property. By the mid-fall, we shall be adding a fourth unit that will be an adjoining one bedroom suite adjacent to our two bedroom suite. That will give our guests the option to take both units as a three bedroom, two bath and dual kitchen suite, with a privacy lockout - perfect for families with teenagers and young adults who would like to have their own space, but still vacation together. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at 'Le Chateau du Carondelet' and say with all sincerity, "Y'all come back now, ya' hear.."

With 3 month old twins

We rented two units at this location, a 2 bedroom and this 1 bedroom. It turned out that this one bedroom was a better fit for our daughter, her boyfriend and their 3 month old twins. The rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable. The washer/dryer was broken but there was a wash & dry across the street which was even more convenient because we could do multiple loads. We had a plumbing mishap on the first morning and it was taken care of immediately. Lauren was so nice, responsive, professional, and made us feel welcomed. The location is one block from St Charles where you can catch the street car to take you close to the French Quarters and an easy walk to Magazine St for shops and restaurants. On Magazine try the District for breakfast & lunch & fantastic donuts. And next door is Steins for great sandwiches and beers. We were here for our son's graduation from Tulane Medical School so relatives staying at the Hotel Indigo could easily walk to this apartment for gatherings. It still felt roomy with 13 people. This will be our first choice for future visits to NOLA and we've already recommended it to family and friends.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our "hi-tech" combo washer/dryer is back on line, by the way, so the option to do laundry in-house remains open once again. We've added a new queen size leather sleeper sofa (and matching love seat), so now the unit can sleep 4 adults comfortably, with privacy afforded by the ceiling to floor sliding french pocket doors. We are pleased you found our little gem in the Garden District all that you expected, and we look forward to y'all coming back again soon.

Rental was Just enchanting

With the exception of entering the wrong unit, upon arrival, everything else was just enchanting. The tall ceilings are to die for, the floor to ceiling windows and pocket door was something made out of movies. I really loved staying here and Surrey's for breakfast just put the molasses on the New Orleans experience. Parking was easy, I would rent a car if staying here, while the trolley is a block away, we really did some traveling and ventured outside of the city limits. The unit washer/dryer combo was too slow for us city folks so we just went across the street to the laundromat and washed our towels. We did end up purchasing several sets at a Walmart because my sweetheart likes to use a new towel everyday and of course the linens were limited for such daily usage. Payment and communication with Joe Zarske was effortless. I can't wait to return. As a side note. Surrey's is a must do, no exceptions trust me... As a side note The Surrey Cafe & Juice Bar location in the Lower Garden District's food and service is better than the Uptown location, Yep we went to both. A fabulous getaway to a terrific city. The rental was as expected in the review. Conveniently located to street car access. No rental car needed. It was clean and well equipped and would recommend for a couple looking for a nice place to stay in a quiet neighborhood near all the places on your wish list of things to do and see in NOLA.
