DEVILS HOLE LODGE - MUSKEGON RIVER, NEWAYGO

Newaygo Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

Our cabin is set up to accomodate couples, friends and families with 'feel at home' lodging. It's a great place to bring your clubs and play golf or your fishing gear and take advantage of some of the best Salmon, Trout and Steelhead fishing in North America. The cabin is unpretentious on the outside but a 4-star hotel inside with a relaxing view of the Devils Hole bend of the Muskegon river. Our vacation home has been professionally designed and decorated and it shows. We cater to anyone who enjoys spending time in a National Forest. We have all new stainless kithcen appliances, large flat screen HD TV, air conditioning, washer/dryer, outdoor grill, firepit etc. to make your stay more comfortable. Our home is freshly remodeled from top to bottom. It is exceptionally clean and completly furnished with everything you would need for a great stay. Please visit our website for more details...

Keywords: Our 850 s.f. cabin is situated at 2485 Muskegon Blvd on the steep high bank within the Devils Hole Bend of the Muskegon River. Upstream about 3.5 miles from the small town of Newaygo, just below the Thornapple boat launch. Nestled within the Manistee National Forest our small neighborhood shares the Manistee with turkey, deer and black bear. Considered a fly fishing haven for brown trout, rainbow trout, steelhead and salmon, the river is suited to wading, drift fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

Enjoy an outstanding view down to the river while maintaining the feeling of total seclusion as your nestled within 100' tall hardwood trees. We are set up with 5 beds in 3 rooms (1 queen bed, 2 fulls and 2 twins), a fully stocked kitchen, linens and towels. Why stay at a hotel/motel when you can comfortly stay at our home. We cater to those who want to spend a few relaxing days fishing, canoeing, kayaking and golfing. We have fishing guides if you are som inlclined, I would not recommend being able to fish on the river in front of our cabin because of the steep access.

We live in Texas but my wife is from Michigan and we travel up 4-5 times per year to fish and visit her family. I am a Landscape Architect and my wife is in the Insurance industry.

The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2010

We fell in love with this place because of its feeling of seclusion yet a great view of the river. The fishing has no rivals. The locals have made us feel at home and many have already become great friends.

One thing we didnt realize is how many top ranked golf courses and antique shops there are in the area.

Mu husband and a couple of our friends stayed here in August of 2013 for a weekend. We had a fabulous time!! We walked into the house and were blown away. The outside doesn't give the inside any justice at all. It is very clean, extremely inviting and was decorated just right without it favoring to much to just one gender. I immediately felt at ease and had a feeling of being "home". The woods out back accompanied by the sound of the river is extremely relaxing. The gas grill on the deck was clean and ready to go and we prepared some amazing meals and enjoyed them tremendously on the deck with nature all around us. The bonfire pit was perfect for keeping bugs away and adding a little warmth to the night chill. We did some fishing on the river behind the house and caught quite a few fish! We also took a canoe trip that lasted the whole day and was sooooo FUN!! The whole trip was great and the owners made it very simple and easy for us to just pack a bag and go. They had EVERYTHING else taken care of from laundry soap, any utensil you want, cups, plates, pillows, sheets, hangers in the closets, movies, books EVERYTHING down to coffee with cream and sugar!! Their care and concern for their guests was impeccable. We can't wait to go back. Don't hesitate on this place or give it another thought just book it and go have the time of your life. It's a 10 star in my book.

We came back for a second year to the Devilshole. This comfortable and cozy cabin works great for four Anglers and their gear. Well decorated with a good view of the Muskegon River are additional features that we also appreciate.

The cabin is a great place to stay if you are looking for a comfy place with great proximity to the Muskegon river and Newaygo, MI. The furnishings were great, the location easy to find, and the scenery was great. We were there to fish for steelhead on the Muskegon for a couple of days and did very well. The river is beautiful and the fishing is usually very good in the fall. Would stay at Devil's Hole Lodge again without hesitation.

A little piece of Heaven!

My husband and I stayed 5 days, as a little getaway without the kids.

The lodge was absolutely awesome! The feeling is warm and cozy, the furniture very comfortable, and we loved the fireplace- used it every night. The decor was perfect, not overdone. Everything was very clean, linens were nice and plentiful. It was very nice having a washer/dryer available.

It was so peaceful there! The weather was cool enough to leave the windows open 24/7 and enjoy the breezes, listening to the wind in the trees and the bird chatter. I fed a squirrel on the deck all week. There is almost no traffic on the dirt road in front, and the neighbors are very quiet. The only thing we bought after the first day was bottled water, as we didn't care for the taste of the well water. It certainly wasn't bad, just not what we're used to.

Kyle was great, quickly answering my numerous emailed questions before our trip, referring us to a great fishing guide, and checking on us after we returned home.

We definitely want to return to this little piece of Heaven! Maybe for some Fall color next time.....

The photos of this cabin are an absolute true tell. Secluded but not too far from shopping, sight seeing and Michigan's Adventures. You will find lot's of information in the cabin about places to eat, shopping, local highlights and other attractions nearby. The cabin is clean and well stocked with towels, shampoo, body wash, everything but your food. The water get's hot, the shower is roomy. Kyle did warn us that there was no access to the river, and he wasn't lying, it's steep, but you can watch the tubers, and canoers. There is a gas grill a fire pit and a picnic table on the back deck. And most of all PET FRIENDLY. I would definitely recommend this rental. I am sure there is much to do in the winter as well.
