YOU WILL LOVE IT!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to add our kudos to this beautiful apartment, reinforcing the other reviewers. My husband and I have rented several VRBO homes but none have had Judit as their owner. What a difference she makes! She met us outside her historic apartment building. The perfectly gorgeous apartment has been completely remodeled by Judit and Ash. It’s bright, comfortable and has everything you could ever need. The kitchen was well-stocked. She even provided fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, milk, bread and more to start us off. After she showed us through the apartment and gave us many ideas of things to do, she took us on a walking tour. By the time we returned to our little bit of heaven, we knew our new neighborhood very well. We felt lucky to have 5 nights at the Buda Dream. You will LOVE IT!

Absolutely Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

WOW...what a wonderful apartment. This was out first visit to Budapest and certainly will not be our last. The trip by taxi from the airport was about $30... USD. Our host Judit was away on holiday during our stay, but had arranged for her friend to meet us and give an overview of the apartment. Judit also puts together a very comprehensive overview of the apartment amenities as well attractions that are a must. Judit's friend also walked us around the neighborhood, showed us the local shops and the Metro Station where many trams, the subway and buses gather to take you nearly everywhere in the the Budapest area.

After each day's exploration and sightseeing, it was so homelike to come back to the Apartment to unwind, relax, sleep and get ready for the next day's excitement.

When our plane was leaving at 0630 the following week, Judit's friend was at the apartment at 04:00 to ensure we had a taxi and take back the keys.

Judit's attention to detail makes the stay that much more enjoyable. We are going to return to Budapest and when we do, we will plan our trip around the availability of this property. While 5 stars is all you can give. Judit, her property and her friend are a "10".

You'll think you are dreaming at Buda Dream!

  • 5 of 5

There's not much I can add to the other reviews! All I can say is that Judit made our first trip to Budapest a memorable experience. We both felt that we were traveling out of our comfort zone (language, currency) until we saw the taxi driver standing at the end of the platform holding a card with our names. We had read about "suspicious gentlemen" at the train station. Charley delivered us to Buda Dream and Judit was in the door greeting us like long lost friends. She spent 2 hours with us describing the sights and giving us a tour of the neighborhood. We were put at ease following her gracious greeting. She had stocked the frig with breakfast foods so there was no need to shop the evening we arrived.

Budapest is a beautiful city full of kind folks like Judit. At the end of our 4 day visit she arranged for Charley to take us back to the train station and met us before we left to delivery a bag of goodies for our trip! Don't stay in any other apartment!

Everything the other reviewers said and more!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been renting houses and apartments for our vacations for more than 20 years. WOW!! Judit indeed sets a new standard. No other host/owner even comes close. Before I book any apartment I always look at the reviews. When I read the reviews on this apartment my first thought was "this sounds too good to be true" but trust me our experience was all that and more. Judit is amazing!! She provides the Ritz-Carlton type of experience. My husband had a cold when we got there and Judit's husband Ash came over to the apartment straight away with some American cold medicine. They are such a warm and fun couple. We actually ended up spending some time with them during our stay. Now to the apartment - it is also everything that it is advertised, great location, safe neighborhood, quiet street, close to metro and bus, comfortable bed, remodeled with all the newest hardware and appliances. In short, if you are going to Budapest book this apartment!!! Thanks to Judit and Ash for making our Budapest experience so special.

Fishermans Bastion(1.3 km 17 minutes)

1014 Budapest

Szentháromság tér 5

The Fisherman’s Bastion(Halászbástya) is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. It was designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans ofFrigyes Schulek. Between 1947–48, the son of Frigyes Schulek, János Schulek, conducted the other restoration project after its near destruction during World War II.

From the towers and the terrace you can have a stunning view of Danube, Margaret Island, Pest and the Gellért Hill.

Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.

The Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen that was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages. It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths.

Szent György tér 2

The imposing Buda Castle overlooks the city from its elevated position atop Várhegy (Castle Hill), rising 48 meters above the Danube. The castle has had a tumultuous history that reflects the ups and downs of Hungary’s fortunes.

Today the castle, often referred to as the Royal Palace (Budavári palota), is home to a number of cultural institutions, including two museums: the National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum.

A visit through the exhibition is a virtual time journey, which gives you the opportunity to have a look at relics of the past raging from architectural findings that are more than 40,000 years old to posters from the 20th century. After a walk across the collection, you will know everything about the history of Budapest from Roman ages until the present day.

The history of the emergency hospital goes back to World War II, when Castle District was part of the Government Quarter. The caves and tunnels were connected and fortified and used as an air raid shelter. On the orders of the Mayor of Budapest an emergency surgical hospital was also built within the caves beneath Buda Castle Hill. The hospital was actively used during WW II until July 1945 and then during the 1956 Revolution to treat wounded civilians and soldiers. Between 1958 and 1962 it was expanded to withstand potential chemical and nuclear attacks during the Cold War. The “Hospital in the Rock – Secret Emergency Hospital and Nuclear Bunker” opened to the public in 2008.
