This was a great spot to start our Belize Vacation. Bobbi, Hattie and staff did a great job of communitating with us prior to our stay & arranging Taxi & Cab rides from the airport in Belize City to the Ferry in Caye Caulker and to and from Miss Ellas. They also got us bikes, which we loved!! They were very accommodating and helpful when our plans changed and we had to stay an extra day. Miss Ellas was a sweet very clean Cabena off the beaten path, a short bike ride from town. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some of our meals & blend rum drinks, we loved the hard wood bar. The living room had games, a desk and an AC unit but the louver windows let the breeze through the house. the two porches were great spots to relax and watch the sunsets. Especially the upper deck. The wind and rain came while we were there, and it was amazing to hear rain on the tin roof. The bed was a little lumpy, but it turned out to be OK.
The one negative thing is the noise from the neighboring areas. There is a golf cart rental spot next door and we heard him power washing the carts pretty much the whole time. Now, we don't travel to expect quiet and perfect peace, locals have to make a living! We do travel with a little speaker system and an Ipod/iphone so we can listen to music and drown out any ambient noise, during sleeping hours we used white noise, turned up really loud because there were dogs barking. There is no direct access to the water front but the view to the west was very cool. We would recommend this spot! Thank you!
