Why the Owner Chose North University: Year Purchased: 1986
Gene built this house himself originally to use as an office because with 4 children and a home business we were bursting at the seams. Our children are grown and gone, and with such a great city, neighborhood, street, it seems like the perfect place to share with others.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: The great benefit we enjoy is the completely central location. We are close to an amazing array of interesting places and activities. We are also a 5 minute drive from both IH-35 and Mopac making access to the greater Austin and Texas areas as convenient as possible.
Nevertheless, we live on a beautiful, peaceful street with a feeling of being removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage itself is beautifully constructed with built in oak cabinets and furnished with antiques, a king sized bed, and a homey atmosphere. A screened in garden house is a peaceful, private place to read and enjoy the outdoors.

Patsy and Gene Tankersley
We bought our 86 year old house in 1986, and completely remodeled it. The cottage in our large backyard was built by Gene, architecturally in keeping with the original house. We came to Austin to go to the University of Texas, have lived in this neighborhood over 40 years. We love this area and think it's the best place to live in the entire state.

Private and quiet, pretty and tranquil, walking distance to lots of fun things.
