This brand new building is a touch of luxury surrounded by an authentic Mexican community on one of the friendliest Islands in all of the Carribean. The house is modern and spacious with two bedroom with King Size bed, AC, fan, flat screen TV with cable, High speed internet, full tile bathrooms, double sink in master bedroom, separate kitchen, dining room for six people, living room area and swimming pool on patio.

Great Location. Just off the main road.

House was as described. We were met by Agent at 9PM when we arrived and given instructions on entry, Wi-fi and Security Safe etc. Contact info was clearly stated and posted by front door. Chedraui is the main grocery/ department store only 150M. away. We were located at the mid point of the Island and after some trial and error decided to pay $40mxp per taxi trip to any point of the Island from our location. Take a tour on the local bus for $5 pesos and see most of the Island and a lot of the locals residential areas. A great value but frequency is Mexican. (no real schedule) Any glitches were attended to promptly by Agents. The house is well used and needs some TLC but not anything that cannot be overcome during your stay. No hot water in kitchen sink due to a leak which should be addressed but was not. I recommend this rental to any long stay on Isla.

Great house, central location, accommodating hosts!

Visited Isla in May, 2014, so I'm a little late in writing this review, but, better late than never! We had such a great time that I felt it was important to share our time at Casa Ix Puh!

Having an architectural background, immediately I found the house to be fabulously unique, and wonderfully quirky! We've stayed at numerous VRBO's before and usually homes are pretty 'standard' and straightforward. This house was so much fun to stay in and my kids loved it!

And though the pool was a little small, it was mighty! It was perfect on hot afternoons and we took advantage of BBQ'ing poolside with margaritas and beers! Which, by the way, the property is located just around the corner from the island's main grocery store, which we visited quite frequently!

We loved the location of this home as it was centrally located to what we were doing on the island. Town was one direction, and our friends who lived on the island where in another. We were right smack in the middle, so it was convenient. It is quite a jaunt from downtown Isla, so we rented golf carts during our stay.

The only things I would suggest you keep in mind when booking this house are:

1) They provide a huge jug of water, but you'll want to go to the store and stock up when it runs out. We just happened to bring water bottles from home that were insulated (HydroFlask ones keep your water cold ALL DAY!), so we'd fill the bottles at night, put them in the refrigerator, and then cool water the next day.

2) Be sure to keep the kitchen CLEAN!!! We left something out the first night and it was overrun with ants the next day. From then on, we kept everything clean and thus the ant problem was eradicated immediately!

The only thing I would suggest to the owners (who were great and took care of us exceptionally well!) is to take some pictures of the master bathroom! It was HUGE! And, the layout and details (i.e. beautiful sliding glass door, tile, etc.) made it extra special! The entire master suite was delightful and having A/C in the bedrooms and downstairs tv room was great! Adding A/C in the front room/kitchen would have been nice for cooking meals, but it wasn't a huge problem. Oh, and maybe a few chairs on some of the patios? All decks, including rooftop one, were such awesome spaces that it would have been fun to utilize them!

Otherwise, this house was perfect for our family and we wouldn't hesitate returning again!

An absolute hidden gem!

Having been to Isla a half dozen times or so, we were excited when we first saw this listing on homeaway.com, but a little skeptical when we saw that there were no reviews. So we emailed a friend we'd made on a previous trip, who lives on Isla and whom we would trust to tell us the truth, and she said it was everything the listing said it would be, and that we should try it.

After staying there for 10 days over this Christmas, I can tell you it is a great place and we would not hesitate for a moment to go back or recommend this place to a friend. It's hidden away on a nearly un-marked un-paved street right next to Yamaha, only a half a block from the Chedraui, so it's an absolutely excellent location - a 7 minute golf cart ride to north beach, and literally walking distance to the big store.

The place is very clean, spacious, private and modern with great amenities.The ONLY issue we had was that the electricity blinked off the hot water wasn't working when we checked in. We emailed the owner, she immediately had someone come fix both problems.

The cleaning staff and pool man came by and quickly and quietly took care of the place as promised.

Don't let it's location deter you - the private alley is a blessing in disguise.

We just hope it's available for our next trip.
