AUSTIN ECLECTIC MEETS CABIN RUSTIC

Bastrop Cabin Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2-4

Our cozy 600 sq. ft. cabin sits in the middle of 6 private wooded acres. It has three porches, so your living space extends to the great outdoors. This is the perfect place to get away from it all while still being close to the many area attractions. Guests enjoy hanging out in the two giant hammocks hung under the trees, practicing their ping pong & badminton swings or just kicking back in a rocker and watching the birds. Features include: an outdoor gas grill and fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals, an outdoor dining area and a picnic table and a fire bowl with adirondack chairs. Great place for stargazing, sunsets, walks in the woods, and bird watching.

We live and work in Austin, Texas. We are both graduates of the University of Texas who stayed and made this city our home. We are raising two amazing kids and two big dogs, and we all love to explore the outdoors.

Robert Bednar purchased this cabin in 2009

We bought this little cabin as a place to escape the noise of the city without having to travel far. Over the past few years, the cabin has become a second home to our family and we have put a lot of love and care into the place. We have traveled all over the country and various parts of the world but always find our hearts pulled back to the simplicity and peace of a quiet spot in the woods. We welcome you to share our place and hope you will enjoy it, too.

We knew this was the place for us as we pulled into the driveway and saw the towering pines and oaks that enveloped us and transported us to another place. Fortunately, the fires of 2012 missed our property and we only lost a few of our grand old pines in that summer's drought. Those losses, and the losses at nearby Bastrop State Park, inspired us to renew our little piece of the forest by planting and nurturing hundreds of baby pines and oaks. Come visit the trees and stay for a while.

Perfect weekend getaway!

My fiancee and I spent the weekend at the Cabin for his 30th birthday and we LOVED it. We live in Austin, so it was a short but nice drive. We arrived and were just blown away by how perfectly turned out the cabin and surrounding property were. The cabin is adorable and very well cared for. It feels much less like a rental than a friend's house and settling into it and feeling at home happened immediately. We went on some excellent walks and saw rabbits and birds and lizards and the hands down largest squirrel I've ever seen :) The kitchen was beautifully outfitted and stocked and we made some excellent meals that we enjoyed on the porch and in the dining room. We also had snacks and wine in the treehouse! The treehouse is just so amazing that I kind of wished we had some kids with us so it could be properly enjoyed! The really had thought of everything, recreation-wise. We had access to a firepit/firewood, hammocks, badminton, horseshoes, ping pong, table games and puzzles, amazing reclining law chairs, rocking chairs, etc etc etc. It was a mecca of relaxation everywhere you looked. Whether you're visiting the Austin area from afar or are from Austin and just looking to get out of town for the weekend, the Cabin is a great bet! This will definitely not be our last trip to the Little Yellow Cabin.

Nice and quiet. Secluded and comfortable. Although we were gone during the early morning and afternoon. We enjoyed an evening on the hammocks and using the grill. There was nothing missing at this cabin. We brought groceries and such. But otherwise - if we had the time - could have stayed a week.

We had a wonderful time during our stay! There were so many activities to choose from, it was like our own all-inclusive summer camp. We spent time in the treehouse, walking around the property, sitting by the fire, and playing ping pong. On the second day of our stay it rained most of the day but we kept ourselves occupied by doing puzzles and watching the rain from the deck. It was so nice to get away for a weekend! Thank you!

Perfect Quiet Weekend Getaway

We loved our stay. The cabin was so quaint and very clean. The photos provided were exactly as it is. The soft lights and plush towels were an unexpected plus. This was the perfect romantic getaway for weary parents. The grounds were ideal for sitting with a cup of coffee and watching the birds and squirrels. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evening. We loved playing badminton, horse shoes, darts, archery and ping pong, followed by a comfortable rest in the hammock. We were only 20 minutes away from downtown Bastrop where we had a fun afternoon hiking around Lake Bastrop, followed by a very nice dinner at Baxter's (per the owner's recommendations) . We have already referred this cabin to family and friends. Thank you!

Wonderful piece of country!

We spent two nights in the cabin with our two young boys and infant. It was cozy & perfect for our family, the description and photos were spot on. There was so much for the boys to do while I could relax outside with the baby. The cabin is so cute and laid out wonderfully and it feels bigger than it is.

We took extra things like paper towels, spices ect, only to find that unlike others, the cabin really is fully stocked, just bring your drinks and food! There are many areas on the property to just hangout and enjoy the great setting, but our favorite was by the fire bowl for sure!

It is a short drive to the state parks nearby, where we went and did a little geocaching.

The owner is wonderful to work with, thank you so much for sharing your perfect little country retreat with us!
