Me and my wife have lived in Lago Vista,Tx. for 18 years and we wanted somewhere to get away to without going to far so we purchased this place and have had a blast with our kids and their friends seeing all the sights of this awesome state and the beautiful Hill country as well as hanging out there riding 4 wheelers and Zipping down the Zip line. It is so much fun!
Owner/Manager Tina Brown purchased this farmhouse in 2011
This place is perfect for bikers wanting to travel hill country and circle around to end up back at Johnson City for the nigh time. It is also great location for those wanting to take the wine trail right down Hwy290 (over 10 on that road)It also is 20 minutes to Blanco,20 minutes to lake Marble Falls,20 minutes to Fredrickburg, and many other attractions in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas.
Our family has so enjoyed this location and all it has to offer and we know you will as well.
This house is billed as a very family atmosphere and lives up to it. We had two families with 6 children ranging from 3 to 9 and the kids had a blast. As in other reviews, the "backyard" kept the kids entertained with the small zip line, swing, single seat swing, croquet and wide exploring space. The kids fell in love with the pool/air hockey table. The parents were happy because the kids could safely wander around the house/yard and keep themselves entertained. Older kids would have so much fun exploring the entire property by themselves. We saw deer several times in the evening.
The kitchen has a reverse osmosis water supply for clean drinking water, and a very capable gas stove. Most of the bunk beds appear to be homemade, so be aware that there are no side railings on the top. The mattresses are fairly basic. One thing to note was that there wasn't a lot of cupboad/dresser space to put your things away - so we mainly lived out of our suitcases for the week. The kitchen is open and spacious - great for multiple "chefs" working.
The surrounding area is lovely - great for cyclists, the street runs straight up the hill for a beautiful evening sunset drive, and an interesting sculpture ranch to visit. We mostly went for nearby outings - LBJ park (several), perdenales falls state park - the history coupled with beautiful scenery made for a perfect spring break.
As in other reviews, Tina is very friendly and helpful! My daughter has already requested to come back soon.
Lovely place! Comfortable, relaxed, place to visit, eat, and just have a relaxing good time with your friends. So many places within 40 miles to tour and check out. Lots of wineries, LBJ ranch, etc. They have a place carved out in the trees where they have put benches, a cross, to sit and meditate. Everyone really enjoyed that. Great place to just walk around. Stream running thru property. We all had a great time, saved on eating as we did not have to eat out all the time. Grocery store within a couple of miles. We plan to go again this Fall when it is nice and cool, so we can be outside and be comfortable. Loved sitting on the front porch in the rocking chair and chatting. Would certainly recommend this place.
This place is great!! We loved it here. There is so much to do. They have swings, toys, zip lining and so much space to run around in. We booked the place a day before and Tina was great. Helped and explained everything perfectly. The kids loved the zip line and we didn't even get to get the big one. The house is so spacious. We had 15 people and everyone enjoyed it. We took our bikes and rode around. We played kick ball and popped fire works. You just can't get bored here. I recommend it to everyone. The town is beautiful and if you drive a couple of hours, you can explore Fredericksburg. Or go swimming. Hope we can go back again. Thank you for the stay!
We had the best 4th of July here. We booked it a day before but everything was perfect. Tina was great help. We didn't get the zip line because it was such short notice. Sure wish we had though. The small zip line kept all the kids busy. There is so much to do here. We took our bikes and rode around. They have swings and toys. You just can't get bored here. The house is very spacious. We just loved it. The pictures don't show much but all rooms have bunk beds. The house just makes you feel at home. I recommend it. Not only was it fun but Tina is super nice. We would definitely stay again. Thank you so much!
