My husband and I have been married 22 years this June and have two grown children who are both married and we now have two granddaughters. We enjoy spending our free time on the water in Welaka and the surrounding area if we aren't traveling elsewhere.
I grew up in Putnam County playing on and around the St. Johns River. It was just a natural choice when we were looking for a second home to escape to on the weekends. We love that it is close enough to the city to be able to get whatever we need but far enough away to feel like we have been transported in time to a slower paced life. It is genuinely a little piece of heaven!
We love that our unit is on the first floor and that we can walk right out the back door without fumbling with stairs or elevators. The unit is easily accessible from the front door or the back and we can sit and have dinner in the river room and watch the sun set, although the pool/tiki bar area is the best place to be to watch the beautiful sunset over the St. Johns river.
