100+ yrs - still looking good! User friendly in every way. Perfect for cycling couples and/or explorer friends looking for a relaxing swim in a saltwater pool at the end of a day wandering. ALERTS: through the non-rental winter months, this home has live-in cats. While cleaning of the entire house and linens is done before rental, people with extreme allergies may find this home not suitable. Features outdoor back deck and poolside seating under a covered gazebo, private saltwater pool (unheated except by sun) with yard and outdoor chimnea fireplace for evening. Propane BBQ, fenced safe area off driveway for bikes, big front porch for early coffee readers on a quiet residential street. Walking distance to the harbour, the town (& Miss Lilly's Cafe for expresso & lunches - inside Books & Co). Backs onto Picton Fairgrounds. This is a home and a home away - with lots of natural light. Front and side doors as well as double doors to deck. Parking for 2+ vehicles. Main floor foyer with a comfortable, warm living room and dining room (seats 6). An open concept kitchen with flat counter (5) burner stove, built in oven, french door frig, ceiling fan, double wash/rinse sink, dishwasher and microwave. Press coffee maker and kettle, tall storage cupboard for food. Through a doorway off the kitchen to a mudroom and the back deck/ pool. A main floor 2 piece bathroom here for convenience. Upstairs (2) comfortable Queen Bedrooms and a 3rd rm / twin bed: 1 small screen DVD player for night time watching. Upstairs washroom is large with a claw-tub bath/ shower - updated with character. Linen closet in upstairs hallway for extra sheets and towels. Basement: some board games, crockinole, cards for quiet days and local event listings round out the 'away' experience. Beach/pool towels are not provided. TV room with PVR and DVD player: HDMI connect is downstairs basement with plenty of channels - but TV watching is not featured for this home. Small basement library - a quiet cool spot in heat. Think retro rec room. WIP. No air con: ceiling fans in house and lots of windows with screens - plus pool for cooling. .

No. But many huge attractors to make a stay enjoyable. Whether driving, cycling or walking, the County itself is an area of history - a small hidden jewel for personal exploration and discovery.

At the edge of Picton, this property is peaceful and has the iconic front porch for a sit. Far enough off the beaten track to feel like a home, close enough to walk to town. Weather permitting, the salt water pool is a quiet oasis - to start or end a day with a refreshing and cooling swim.

What a beautiful property at a great location

A beautiful elegant, property with a great saltwater pool in the backyard. Our family loved it. We took advantage of the saltwater pool and found the house a very comfortable place to stay. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed. The location is most ideal. The stores and restaurants on the main street of Picton are within easy walking distance. The house is also close to Sandbanks Provincial Park, the Lake on the Mountain and a variety of wineries. We would love to come back in the near future. For us it was an ideal place to stay. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and made sure we felt at home. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives.

Prince Edward County is a vibrant tourist community with historic Loyalist roots and a growing reputation for cycling, vineyards, organic growers and slow foodies. Possible to daytrip to Kingston via the Glenora Ferry route (scenic lakeside) - just an hour + away. At the heart of this is Picton: with excellent restaurants steps away, main street vintage clothing shops, cafes and the Regent Theatre for film lovers with live music and theatre events regularly scheduled. Picton also boasts (2) large grocery stores, pharmacies: cheese and liquor / beer stores. Easy driving or biking distance to Bloomfield village, Wellington and the famous and unique Sandbanks Provincial Park for picnicing/ swimming. There are many unique, quaint features to the area: from the Mustang Drive-In theatre (CR#1) to Vickies Veggies in Black River and many roadside veggie stands to remote beauty found in the far southeast corner - Prince Edwards Point.
