What a beautiful home! My 3 friends and I stayed at the mansion to celebrate our 50th birthdays! Couldn't have chosen a better home for this occasion. Huge rooms, gorgeous furnishings, and a beautiful garden to enjoy a beverage and take in the aroma of roses and honeysuckle. Loved being close to the large park. This home is exactly as described, clean and has everything you could possible need. Would definitely stay here again!
This was a great choice for a place a stay in Savannah! Even though it rained our entire stay, this place made up for it. The listing details and photos provided accurately showcased this mansion. It was great that each couple had their own private suite. The owner provided quick responses to our questions and the property was very clean and well maintained.
We stayed at this beautiful home for five days. The house was perfect, in a good location and completely spotless. Diana, the owner of the home, was great to work with and was able to answer the numerous questions we had about the house and Savannah.
Savannah was absolutely beautiful...we were able to park our car direclty outside of the house at the beginning of the week and only had to move it once to drive to Tybee Island. Everything within Savannah was easily walkable from the location of the house.
As a side note, if you are a light sleeper I would suggest bringing some ear plugs with you on your stay. My husband and I slept in the bedroom on the front of the house, and many times either late at night or early in the morning, I could hear groups of people playing basketball in Forsyth Park. This is in no way a major issue, but definitely worth mentioning.
Thank you, Diana, for making our stay in Savannah so enjoyable. We really felt like locals staying at your lovely home instead of being stuck in a hotel room. We can't wait to come back!
My family spent 5 nights at this wonderful home. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had and even though the pictures make this place look great, I can promise they still do not do this wonderful house justice. The building is on a very neat/cute/cozy street which was right across the street from the giant park. I loved the ivy covered steps on the entry steps to the unit. The entire house (well our part of it) was so nice and comfortable. The two bedrooms are very big and so well decorated. The same can be said for the two upstairs bathroom, very clean and extremely nice. One of our favorite parts of our trip to Savannah was just hanging out in this house. The attached patio was very nice to sit on and look at the garden below or the park across the street. We also had access to the small garden attached to the house which was so nice and well maintained. The living room was so comfortable and we loved sitting in the chairs by the huge window that over looked the park. We also enjoyed watching all the trolley tours drive down the street, as that means you are probably in a notable location. We could easily walk to just about everywhere is Savannah, especially the park. Do not hesitate to stay here if you are looking for a place in Savannah. You will not regret it.
I read some review about the size of the kitchen. I did not find it prohibitive at all. The fridge may be a little small but we cooked a few meals and had no issue at all. Plus, there are too many great places to eat in Savannah to cook too much.
Diana was very friendly, responsive and helpful. You can tell she takes pride in her property and in her role as the owner. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay very much.
A couple things to be aware of - the pullout couch is actually in one of the bedrooms (large, beautiful bedrooms!). For us this was a little difficult as our 5th person is a snorer and needed to be downstairs. Diana was attentive to this, though, and offered to bring over a roll away should we need it.
The kitchen is smallish but good enough for vacation needs.
The washer/dryer is really confusing and our party ended up ruining some clothes due to confusion about how to use it.
There are some good and bad things about the location. There is easy access to yummy, affordable food nearby including a health food grocery right next door. Also, Forsyth park is directly across the street. Next time, however, I would prefer to stay somewhere on the other side of the park closer to the historic district. The historic district is as elegant as it is wrought with Savannah's history.
Overall, the property is quite spectacular and I will remember our experience with fondness. The ceilings are incredibly high and the space is quite generous. You immediately feel relaxed when you enter! I would also recommend to others.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Savannah. The listing description was accurate and everything was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend to a friend.
