Beaufort House Rental Photos and Description

Country Living On The Water, 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, 3800 Sq. Ft. Fire Pit

If you picture yourself sitting on a screened in porch, sipping your favorite beverage, and gazing across the expansive water views, while being cooled by the sea breeze, this is the house for you.

This 5 acre secluded waterfront estate sits on a high bluff with expansive water and marsh views. The gorgeous shingle and glass home features an open and airy floor plan. The massive rooms, featuring 14 ft. ceilings and large windows, allow your eyes to wander out to the natural beauty surrounding the house. The home was previously featured in a magazine for it's architectural beauty and has now been renovated by the current owners, who design part time. Their other home, a NYC loft, is often used for celebrity birthday parties, movie premiere after-parties, numerous photo-shoots, and was the set for the 2014 John Varvatos campaign. The same attention to detail and forward-thinking design is evident throughout this gorgeous home. There are 6 wood burning fireplaces, including one in the master bath, master bedroom, and in the gourmet/commercial kitchen, reclaimed wood floors, crown-moulding and trim, American Clay walls, and designer antique furnishings are just a few of the distinguishing features that set this home apart from the others in this area.

The house boasts 2 screened porches, with floor to ceiling screens, allowing for unobstructed views. One of the screened porches is off of the master bedroom, while the other is an extension of the living room, allowing the porch to also have 14 ft. ceilings. The home enjoys the sought after south eastern exposure, ideal for enjoying the prevailing south eastern sea breeze.

The house is surrounded by palm trees, live oaks, and tropical landscaping, all effortlessly watered by a 6 zone irrigation system, from the property’s well. A private dock allows for breathtaking views of the sunrises and sunsets, and is the perfect place to get closer to the dolphins that sometimes visit to snack on the local shrimp. This 5 acre private paradise is bordered by Heritage Preserve, a sacred 20 acre protected forest, that was once home to the Coosaw Native Americans. Nature and wildlife are abundant in this pristine forest setting that the house is nestled into. You will find yourself peacefully drifting asleep to the sounds of the singing forest.

A brick path from the back door leads to a massive brick fire-pit, which can be enjoyed year round.

There is a great community boat launch / small marina w/ slips under 1 mile from our home.

With only being 9 miles from historic downtown Beaufort, this slice of paradise is stunningly unique and it’s calming effect truly cannot be avoided by anyone who visits.

About Kevin OMalley

My wife and I moved to Beaufort from Hermosa Beach, California. We love the peace, beauty, and water access of our home. We hope you enjoy our house as much as we do.

Kevin OMalley purchased this house in 2012

Why Kevin OMalley chose Beaufort

We sold our home (also a vrbo home) in California. We left in our Airstream with our 4 dogs and drove around the country in search of our next house. Having never been to South Carolina we were excited to get to Charleston for the weather (it was March). We loved the city but we wanted something smaller with less traffic. We settled in Beaufort. I wanted water and great weather and my wife wanted land in the forest and serenity. We feel very lucky to live where we do.

Spectacular house with an abundance of character!

  • 5 of 5
My fiancé and I spent our anniversary weekend here on a 3 night stay. The house itself is immaculate. The owners designed it so beautifully and their passion to all of the details is clear. While at the property we found our selves mostly in the hammocks off the master suite reading books from their extensive library. When we weren't in the hammocks we spent time down on the private dock trying our luck at fishing, and at night we could be found next to the fire pit in the back yard. One of my favorite rituals was having a cup of coffee on the swing every morning located on the bottom screened in porch. The 12 minute drive to downtown is accurate if not closer as we spent one afternoon eating at Plums right on the water at Bay St. Every night was topped off either by a soak in the claw foot tub in the master bath or in the hidden shower overlooking the water. The owners are very courteous and provided any information that we needed to make our stay truly amazing. I strongly recommend this tranquil paradise to anyone looking to get away from the rigors and stress of daily life.

Luxury rental feels like a dream home!

  • 5 of 5
This home is the nicest rental home we've ever stayed in. For those who posted negative reviews (we read them all before signing up): First, the owners clearly have this set up as their own home and Second, have made any of the few changes/adjustments that were needed to avoid getting locked out, etc.
From our first drive into the circular driveway, we said WOW. The home has a commanding spot on this huge 5 acre lot with the perfect views out to the marshes and seemingly nothing else around. To be so close to downtown Beaufort, it's amazing how quiet and peaceful this place is.

As an interior designer and retired real estate agent, this home shows beautifully. The owners spared no expense on the furnishings (the dining room table is one HUGE slice of some kind of large tree with all the edges in original state, I've never seen anything like it, exquisite). The kitchen has just been updated and is fun, with an industrial/commercial feel (see photos) and lots of neat options (coffee station with every choice you can think of, Keurig, espresso maker, etc.) and tons of spices. The only recommendation for the renter is to bring any other cooking supplies you need besides your food (i.e. saran wrap, catsup, salt & pepper etc. We bought S & P and left it there but it could be gone later).

The bedrooms are all comfortable and outfitted with unusual light fixtures and lovely, high end throw rugs. The porches have nice swings or hammocks for lazing and reading.

The master bath is pretty cool too, especially if you love a nice bath tub. Jen has an antique doctor's cabinet set up with lots of essential oils. Wow, what a treat!
If you prefer the shower, it's hidden at the other end of the master closet behind a secret door with the towels stored in it on the front. It's so cleverly placed there, at first we thought there was no master shower!

The owners have a couple of nice 3-ring binders in the kitchen clearly laying out everything aspect of the house for you with notes and updates. That's how we found the shower ;) It's very well organized and thought out. They also have a book with restaurant suggestions. Manager (Guy) recommended a few places and we loved them all. He and his wife, Joan, were there as we were leaving and couldn't have been more helpful and nice. So nice, that when Guy discovered we left something, he shipped it back to us. That certainly might not happen at some larger resort somewhere else. We will be back!

Simply Wonderful!!!

  • 5 of 5
An absolutely beautiful home. A perfect location for a get-away week for my husband and me to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

My husband, who built our homes, truly enjoyed the architecture of the house. We took pleasure in making several meals together in the commercial style kitchen. As we spend many of our weekends in antique and consignment shops, we took enjoyment and admired the many treasures throughout the home. A splendidly decorated home.

Waking up to nature’s beautiful sounds and scenery was a pleasure to our senses and extremely calming and relaxing. The screened in rooms off the living/dining area and the upstairs master bedroom were two of our favorite places in the home. They were simply wonderful places to relax any time of the day or evening!

Our sons joined us for the weekend and they truly enjoyed the home, kayaking directly from the backyard and our evenings by the fire pit.

The O’Malleys, the owners, and Guy, the property manager, were absolutely fabulous and very accommodating. From the minute we arrived, until we left for home, they made sure that all of our needs were being met and that we were enjoying their home and our stay. We thank them for their kindness and their hospitality.

This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever stayed in! It is truly a showplace. Stayed with 3 couples and we each had our own suite. Would recommend highly.

Best Weekend Ever….

  • 5 of 5
Breath taking home in every way possible. From the moment we stepped into the front door we felt at home. Not only is your home aesthetically beautiful inside and out but it has a certain feel that makes a person immediately at home. The owners are more than hospitable with the amenities and this beautiful home was not only stocked with anything a person could need but also was very environmentally conscious in more than one way. The views both in the front and back are movie worthy and the generosity of the use of your kayaks, grill, dock, etc. was greatly appreciated by our family. Your openness to pets was probably the best part of the stay. We brought our 2 dachshunds and they fully enjoyed running, chasing crabs, lying in the sun and sniffing the many scents of nature. It was nice to relax and get to enjoy having our furr babies be a part of our get away. Thank you to the sweet lady of the house for offering the beautiful oils and creams. You are truly a generous host and hostess and we feel honored and very privileged that you allowed our family to enjoy and stay in your home. I would also like to give a most gracious shout out to Guy, the wonderful and accommodating grounds keeper. My daughter left her cell phone and before I even arrived home Guy was putting it in the mail! Can't thank you all enough! We will absolutely rebook a future stay!
