Istanbul is well known the world over as a perfect marriage between Europe & Asia, East & West as well as the ultra-modern and the ancient.
This marriage is perfectly reflected in Sultan Suites at Golden Horn. Located on the European side of Istanbul, and originally built in 1895, this fully newly renovated sea view apartment is located on the Golden Horn surrounded by the ancient walls of Istanbul dating back to the Byzantine era of 532AD. One of the most famous buildings of the Istanbul skyline, the Galata tower can be viewed from all floors of this historical building. Next door is the famous Greek Fener Patriarchy Church.
Brand new fully furnished apartment on one floor is available for rent. The apartment have been decorated to an extremely high standard and feature a 'hamam style' bathroom & shower, 1 large studio with a double bed, a fully appliance kitchen with dining area for 4 people.
All the walls and ceilings feature fresco paintings by famous local artist with no two rooms or apartments decorated in the same style or color scheme. The decorations and exclusive furniture has been especially selected not only for comfort, but also to accurately reflect the history and time period of the Ottoman Empire of this unique building.
Great location right in the middle of all the cultural and historical sites, with fabulous restaurants down the street of this local neighborhood without the hustle of the touristic scene. All of Istanbul is at your reach by foot, ferry boats, buses and taxis.
My husband and I bought this building with a dream of creating Ottoman style suites. For over 2 years we have been renovated this building back to the days of the Ottomans. Wall fresco have been completed by the famous painter who restored Dolmabahce Palace for the last 25 years. Every room is unique. This building is 2nd grade historical building and the area is in protection of European Culture Nations.
Sultan Suites features 1 lounge, 1 kitchen, 1 separate master bedroom and queen size sofa bed sleeping 4 persons per floor with Daily Maid Service available. The apartment has a Turkish hamam.
We felt welcome from the moment we stepped out of the taxi - though it was a little difficult to locate. We were in phone contact - so it wasn't a problem. Sultan Suites is an appropriate name - just seeing the photos here takes me back to our lovely stay. it was a luxurious space with a handy kitchen. A special word about the hamam/bathroom - it felt as if we were in the harem of the Topkapi palace - beautiful Katuhya work in the handcrafted mosaic and a wonderful shower. Our host was away and their daughter was there to welcome us - she gave us plenty of great ideas about what to do, where to eat and where to find the best baklava and even took us around for a short drive warning us that the streets would be unrecognisable in the day! We understood what she meant as we enjoyed the 20 minute walk into the old city along the water. Just lovely - great atmosphere. And we were pleased we chose an area a little removed from Sultanahmet to get a better feel for this fabulous city. Our landlady came to see us as we left very early in the morning - we were touched and want to say that we really appreciate the superb hospitality! Hope to be back. Highly recommend.
This house is really gorgeous and is an excellent for couple's looking to experience Istanbul civilization by living it. The house is historical and renovated to stay historical. Its archeticture amazes me. It is super clean, the daily cleaning service is awesome, the furniture is super neat. Even the towels and the Hammam (Turkish bath) are of high quality & great experience which you cannot find in five star hotels. It is unforgettable experience.
The host is very helpful and welcomed us with hugs and smiles. Although we were busy exploring the town and could not ask her much, she was supportive and called to see if we needed any tips.
It was my first experience in homeaway and definitly a great experience.
I highly recommend this place. It is also a nice & easy walk along the river side to the tourists area. My wife and took a nice walk for 25 minutes and we arrived to Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the spice bazar, and so on. Great view, great house, great location, and great service. I will go for it again!
Thanks to Nafiye, the owner of this house, for this great experience & extended hospitality.
Our stay in Istanbul was perfect. The apart hotel where we stayed is just amazing; well located, spacious, new, clean, very charming. Besides that, the attention of the owner, Nafiye was something perfect, showing us what is in the region and also a side of Istanbul that tourists do not see. We felt at home. Thank Nafiye for their friendliness, attention and responsiveness.

I have enjoyed a lot my stay in "Sultan Suits Golden Horn"- the apart hotel in the heart of ancient Istanbul at Golden Horn. It is quite beautiful and comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. One can enjoy every detail in that apart hotel and feel like being at home.
It has a fantastic view of the Golden Horn. Most of the touristic sites are in walking distance of about 45 minutes. There a very good bus connection at the neighbourhood.
Thank you very much, dear Nafiye, you made our trip to Istanbul truly unforgettable! We were warmly greeted by Nafiye who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and told us all about the area.
We would not hesitate to recommend this apart hotel.

Sultan Suites Golden Horn Istanbul - 09/26 – 10/03/2014
This is an extraordinary apartment with uninterrupted views of the Golden Horn and Galata Tower. It is situated near the ancient walls of Istanbul which date back to 532AD. My wife and I had the apartment on the second floor. It was home away from home for one week. This Ottoman apartment was spacious, comfortable, sparkling clean and well equipped. The details in all of the frescoes are outstanding and the carved intricate ceiling decorations are pure Ottoman. The Haman is probably the most outstanding feature of this apartment.
Nafiye is an excellent hostess. We contacted her from Canada to finalize the dates for our stay. She followed up promptly on every communication including details from our arrival; oversee our comfort in the apartment and to our final departure for Ataturk airport. She left nothing to chance. Nafiye introduced us to all the local eateries and comfortable restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. She really made our stay delightful.
This perfect location 75 meters from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate is accessible on foot or by regular public transport to Eminonu, the Grand bazaar, Egyptian bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Roman Cistern. Public transportation is easy. Purchase an Istanbul Pass (Kart) from the grocery store across the street from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. It’s good for the bus, streetcar and ferry. Just top up the card as needed for your trips.
Thank you Nafiye for your generosity, outstanding hospitality and making our stay in Istanbul a memorable and enjoyable experience.

At Sultan Suites Golden Horn, guests feel like royalty. Staying here, enveloped in Nafiye's ambience, is like being on a magic carpet ride. Every aspect of her creation reflects an artful eye, passion for perfection, and dedication to pampering her guests. Decor is a contemporary vision of Ottoman opulence. Fabrics are luxurious and refined, furnishings are opulent, and the bed is very comfortable. After a traditional hamam-style bath (rararity in travelers' accommodations) or the rain shower with gold-plated fixtures, exquisite oversized towels impart a feeling of luxury. From the living room, the view of downtown Istanbul is beautiful day and night across the waters of the Golden Horn. Toiletries and handmade soaps are of high quality. The kitchen is equipped with top-quality appliances in mint condition, including a clothes washer-dryer. A spectacular chandelier hangs in the living area.
Each day, Nafiye's assistant tidied up our apartment - a service seldom included in vacation rentals. The neighborhood, recently adopted by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, features ruins of walls from Roman times, narrow cobblestone streets, friendly neighbors, Mom & Pop eateries, and the Patriarchy - headquarters of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople. There are plenty of exotic experiences and interesting sights within walking distance. The touristic must-sees (Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia , Cistern, etc.) require a more ambitious walk, or Nafiye can arrange a guided tour for you. Once these are checked off, it's nice to be in an authentic Istanbul ambience, away from the swarms of tourists in the Old City area of Sultanahmet. Be sure to check out the amazing nearby market that stretches for blocks in all directions with an eye-popping array of foods and more. One stall had twenty-eight varieties of olives. And the whole thing appears on Wednesday mornings, then vanishes at nightfall!
We stayed in an efficiency apartment on the main floor. Larger one-bedroom apartments on the two higher floors offer the same Golden Horn view from their living rooms, while the bedrooms face the tiny street behind the building, so there is less traffic noise in these bedrooms. Traffic is busy on the water side of the building, but becomes quieter during late night hours. We were always able to sleep well.
Nafiye's Sultan Suites will always be our home in Istanbul. Thank you, Nafiye!
We had a great 7 days stay at this comfortable elegant apartment in Ottoman style. The hamam and the big rain-shower was too good, the soaps was handmade, the towels were in high quality. This place was so clean and the daily made service was a great plus. The apartment has a great sea view at Golden Horn. The kitchen is very well equipped, the washer/dryer was very useful. When you step out the door you face the Greek Orthodox Patriarchy Church. There are many good and cheap/expensive restaurants and cafes. The location is great, you can walk to Galata Tower and Eminonu. Don,t forget to walk along the sea-side to the Spice Bazaar. Very easy to reach public transportations. The owner Nafiye, the host/owner was extremely helpful and kind, she text us every morning and evening. We loved that place. We hope to be back soon. We definitely recommend this place.
The Apartment is located amongst the Byzantine ruins of the ancient walled city of Istanbul. It is very close to major tourist attractions as well as being in an authentic 'local'area. The Galata Tower is walkable distance. The world famous Golden Horn is a 2minute walk away. Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Roman Cisterns are all within walking distance. Ferries can be found close by enabling you to go to the Asian side of Istanbul or alternatively taking a Bosphorus cruise.
Every Wednesday there is Istanbul's largest and most popular outdoor market very near to the Apartment. Here you can find fresh local produce, clothes, nick-knacks etc.
