Mi-Wuk Village House Rental Photos and Description

4BR/2BA Sierra Vacation House. Truly private and a perfect place to stay!

There are places where forest and water meet in such close proximity that one would swear that nature herself was a travel agent. We're a four season getaway destination!

VERY PRIVATE: Homes in this area are not back-to-back as you will find in areas in Twain Harte.

Booking through Homeaway is more cost effective for you.

Want to see more five-star reviews? You will find them here, but it's far more cost effective for you to book through homeaway/vrbo: Simply cut and paste this link into another browser window -- https://www.airbnb.com/users/reviews/2972555

Truly stunning home with 4 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms including large sunken tubs, indoor mud room (laundry area).

Gorgeous and impeccably maintained Sierra Mountain Home! Just minutes from Twain Harte and Pinecrest Lake (where you will enjoy FREE access), Leland Snow Park and ski at Dodge Ridge.

Yes, there are many other cabins available for a bargain price, however, you will understand the value once you view the images and read what our previous guests have shared about The Sierra Mountain House and their experiences -- you're sure to create memories of your own at this amazing cabin/home.

I'm a California native, high-tech professional worked at Fortune 100 companies including: Oracle, Sun Microsystems, eBay/PayPal, and Visa.

Marilyn (aka Myrna) purchased this house in 2011

I fell in LOVE with this home (after visiting dozens of properties in the area, including Sonora, Twain Harte and Pinecrest) the moment I walked in and saw the beautiful picture window in the living room and all the amazing, authentic woodwork throughout the home I knew I just had to purchase it. I never even opened the kitchen cabinets! Trust me, I'm very picky and you've never quite seen a home/cabin like this -- if you have, I want to rent it, too. (smile)

EXCLUSIVE: First and only hot tub in the area! Amazing views of the lush redwood, cedar and pine trees from every-single-room. This home is very private in an abundant natural setting.

This is a spacious and well equipped mountain home. Bedrooms are large with sitting areas and private balconies. Kitchen large and has everything you need. Big beautiful bathrooms stocked with soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. It is areal value with linen service included large deck is safe for young children. We were impressed with how well built and well maintained it was particularly in comparison with other rentals in the area. Nice quiet setting with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for everyone. We would definitely recommend this for any age group and would love to return. Thanks Marilyn for your attention to detail and your considerate attention

Well maintained and very quiet property. It sleeps about 10 comfortably. The kids enjoyed the game room.
Used the hot tub almost every day, enjoying the trees above. Also i soaked in this amazing tub with these amazing windows over looking the trees.
Maryln the owner has all the spices, plates, cultry.
I guess the only down fall if i had to have one was the game room was very hot no air condition.
But overall our stay was perfect! Thanks Maryln !!!

Spacious, clean cabin in nice location

  • 5 of 5
We had a quick stay and didn't get to spend as much time in the cabin as we normally do when we rent through HomeAway. Still, the cabin was well-appointed, very clean, and comfortable. The owner, Marilyn, is responsive and seems to be laid-back. We opted not to use the hot tub given the fee (which was not something we had experienced before) and how quick our stay ways, and this worked out just fine. There are large soaking tubs in both bathrooms with nice views of the trees, so that can be an acceptable substitute. One of the big factors in our choosing this property was the wi-fi, which worked consistently. It was nice to have Apple TV as well. The kitchen had everything we needed and we appreciated the quality of the amenities throughout. The beds were comfortable and all rooms had nice quality fixtures and decor. We didn't use the game room and in fact never saw it, but there was plenty to keep us occupied with TV and board games (and the outdoors). We were about 20-25 minutes from Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge, where we spent most of our time. The cabins in this area are a little close together but it's a mostly quiet neighborhood and there's very little traffic. We brought our dog, who absolutely loved it. One thing to note is that the driveway is very steep and was slippery with pine needles on it. We were able to charge up it and get into the car port but it definitely made us nervous, especially when we arrived in the dark. You just have to have confidence! All in all a great place to stay and we will certainly consider this cabin for future visits to the area. The property is represented accurately in photos on the listing.

Large, Warm and Pristine.

Our stay was excellent. The house is big and has an enormous deck. One of the upstairs bedrooms also has a balcony which was nice. The bonus game room has a foosball table, a TV, video games, and lots of entertainment for kids or kids at heart. There is a large jacuzzi bath tub in each bathroom and plenty of room for parking cars. Overall a great experience. Will be staying again.

We had a lovely visit at Marilyn's home. The house is nicely decorated and everything is so well appointed, which shows Marilyn's attention to detail in making her guests happy. We really enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and spending time on the grand deck in the evening...overall a comfortable and perfect stay!

More TESTIMONIALS:

'Our stay at The Sierra Mountain House Getaway was fantastic! The spacious cabin easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 children. Every room of the house was beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed. The cabin owner was very attentive, answered all of my emails in a very timely manner, and made sure everything at the cabin was to our liking. I can't wait to go back in the summer!!!' Lu, January 2013

'WOW! What an amazing vacation. It was a dream winter getaway and the owner was incredible! We would definitely go again! Marilyn went above and beyond the call of duty and did so many little things to make us feel welcome and special. She was always available to answer questions and give guidance. We could not have asked for more!' Chris, Christmas week 2012

'My wife and I rented the house for the Thanksgiving along with 2 other couples. The place is absolutely perfect to rest and spend some relaxing time. The place was really comfortable for everyone of us and the way the house as build helps on interacting and spending all the time together. Cabin owner was amazing, she responded all the messages really quickly and even bought a roasting pan for us to cook the Turkey! Definitely recommend to book this house! One of my best experiences so far!' Victor, November 2012

'I came to stay at the Sierra Mountain Resort for my birthday. What an AMAZING place to stay. It's quiet, cozy, has everything you could want for a mountain get-away. The grill, sunken tubs, modern kitchen, and TONS of kitchen supplies made for a VERY comfortable living situation for those who don't want to 'rough it.' My friends and I drove to Travertine Hot Springs which was about 2 hours away (through the beautiful Sierra Mountains) which was SO FUN. It was lovely returning to the cabin after a long day and cozying up next to the wood-burning fireplace and relaxing. The host was a dream to work with, always responding when I needed something and making us feel like SHE was the lucky one having us stay. I would say WE were definitely the lucky ones. AH-MAZING place. Go. Go now! Why are you still reading this? GOOOOO!' Jessica, November 2012

'This cabin was the perfect getaway for my mom's 50th birthday! It was absolutely gorgeous and immediately welcoming. The four bedrooms comfortably accommodated seven (4 parents, 3 kids) with plenty of room to spare. I can't speak highly enough of how homey it was - everyone in our party kept commenting how there would have been no way we would've felt so happy and at ease in the confines of a hotel or even bed and breakfast. We were all able to get up every morning and have freshly brewed coffee on the deck overlooking a gorgeous forest. The homeowner was so responsive on emails and via text message - she was such a breeze to work with! Thank you for helping make my mom's birthday everything I wanted it to be!' Emily, October 2012

'Perfect host, with the perfect house. She was really helpful and quick to answer my queries and she gave me a call personally days before my trip just to make sure everything was going smoothly. my friends and I (8 of us) were in awe when we arrived at her house because it was everything we expected and more. She even gifted us a basket of welcome goodies, which was really sweet and thoughtful. Our main purpose of the stay was to visit Yosemite, which was a nice 1.5hr drive away. it was unfortunate that we could only stay for 2 nights, if not we can have more time to explore what the area has to offer. also, we loved the fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, pots and pans, huge refrigerator) and the porch with the gas grill - we had such a fun evening preparing food and having a barbeque. overall, we had an enjoyable and wonderful stay at her house! I'd definitely love to stay there again. P.S. the photos do not do her beautiful house justice!' Phoebe, July 2012
