Our group loved staying at this cabin! The host was so friendly and helpful and we couldn't wait to plan our next trip back. I would recommend this rental to anyone who asked.
The best vacation I have ever had! And it was because of this place on the lake. My wife, her sister and husband stayed a week and hated to leave! Bill was a great host as well! He took us for a tour of the lake on his pontoon boat.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the 2 refrigerators were a plus also. Bring your groceries is my suggestion, Stores are not real close.
We are looking forward to our next stay!
Our family truly enjoyed our week together at Sunset Haven. The sunsets were all different and each was perfect. Bill was friendly and very helpful! The kitchen was supplied with perfect cookware and facilities. The beds were comfortable. We truly enjoyed the deck, flowers, fireplace and BBQ grill. The adirondack chairs were a perfect touch. We look forward to a return visit next summer! Thanks so much!!
You won't be disappointed with this rental. Our family of twelve had a great time. This rental had everything and more as per the description with plenty of room for all of us. The scenery is breath taking. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this rental and would love to go back. Thanks again to Bill the owner for a wonderful time.
We had a great long weekend at Bill's lovely cabin on the Lake. The accommodation was great - rustic as we expected & spotlessly clean. This is clearly a well loved family home and the range of equipment in the kitchen reflects this wide ranging use over the generations and nothing was lacking. Bill was great with our kids taking them for a ride to Sliding Rock on his boat and allowing us to take out the row boat along the lake. Only minutes from excellent trail walks in the State Campground and up Big Bear Mountain. Bill allowed two of us to sleep in the overflow cabin in the woods a few meters from the main cottage and we were cozy and warm even on the cool Adirondack nights. Traditional upstate New York hospitality at its finest. We would love to come back again! Best regards Joyce, Gale, Christine, Charlie, Lauren, Grant, Lisa, John, Grace and Eric.
This camp on Cranberry Lake was awesome. It has a surprisingly large number of beds, and can easily accommodate many people. The scenery is refreshing, and the view of the lake from the enclosed back porch (or dock) is breathtaking. The fact that several boats are accessible also provides the perfect opportunity for fishing or sight-seeing on the water. If you're looking to get away for a few days, you can't go wrong with this place.
Located on the East side of the lake...we get the best sunsets on the lake! We are a short walk from the NYSDEC public campground and the trail head to Bear Mountain. Cranberry Lake is one of the largest lakes in the Adirondacks with the majority of the shoreline being State-owned. There are dozens of picnic and camping areas on the lake. Trail heads for hikes to mountain ponds and peaks around the lake are accessible by boat.
