Cleanliness is certainly not a top priority for this property
Upon arrival at the property we were impressed with the exterior - opening the front door nevertheless greeted us with a completely different opinion. Despite the property being welll ocated & handy near the sea, as well as providing all of the amenities within the apartment you can tell that the place undergoes only superficial cleaning between change-over stays. The curtains and windows and back courtyard were filthy. Linen was stained & faded as well as all the kitchen cutlery & crockery sticky with filth & had to be cleaned. Drawers were crammed with rubbish. We would strongly suggest to the owners to carry out a major clean up before letting this again or reduce your prices. We have stayed in similar priced accommodation which were exceptionally well-kept. No, we will not be returning to this property and we would neither recommend this to anyone visiting San Francisco.
Owner's Response: I am the owner and I provide a cell number for all guests to contact me with any issues at all. This guest never notified me of anything.
I have a professional cleaning and if there was any issue, I send them out immediately to resolve. This crew also does my home and have been with me for over 10 years.
The back yard is visible from the Master Bedroom. There is also a water shortage in SF and I am complying with minimal outside watering as directed. It does impact the yard but it is still usuable.
This flat has a memory foam King mattress, a redwood sauna and is painted each year as well as upgraded every year. It has mini blinds as opposed to curtains. I found no evidence of the linen stains but I also keep new linen in supply for the cleaning people to make changes. They assured me there everything was fine when they cleaned for this guest. However, had I been called, I would have made whatever changes were requested.
I lived here for 30 years and care about it very much. I also want people to enjoy their SF experience. Each year, I have at least 5 or 6 returning people to stay here. I regret that this guest did not enjoy their SF stay and wish I had been timely notified.
I care about this home and care about the people that stay here and I take care of this place and quickly respond to any issues. I have a contractor and an electrician available to address any potential problems. It is 2 bedrm, 1 1/2 bath with a redwood steam sauna in the Master Bath. It has 950 sq feet, free WiFi, upgraded cable and parking. I know what is available in SF as vacation rentals and the pricing and this is considered a great value.
