My husband and I currently live in Camden.
Susan purchased this apartment in 2000
Why Susan chose Camden
I like clean and expect that when I am vacationing. I love antiquity and this place is cute. This house was built circa 1800 or late 1700's. I could possibly see ourselves retiring here in this house, as it is within walking distance to stores, restaurants, the harbor, and hikes up Mt Battie. We are constantly upgrading the apartment and property every year.
What makes this apartment unique
Camden is known as where the mountains meet the sea. It's a hot spot with all kinds of year-round outdoor activities and celebrations in the Camden/Rockport and Rockland area. Penobscot Bay is considered to be one of the best places in the world for sailing . Biking, skiing, hiking are also fun activities here. Rentals for bikes, skis, and kayaks are available in town. We are fortunate to have the Camden Hills State park. In recent years it has upgraded a lot of its biking and hiking trails. There are small public salt water and fresh water beaches within walking and biking distance of town. Anyone can sign up for rides out of the harbor and to the nearby islands via the various schooners that you will see coming and going. Camden and Rockland offer a various selection of restaurants from take-out to high-end. Or, you have the special option of just eating lobster, clams, mussels and crabmeat - with a great view of the water. We are tucked in between nearby towns that service ferry rides to the nearby islands; this is your opportunity to get a feeling for island life. We are abundant with artists and writers.
