Nice for two couples or small family

  • 5 of 5
This is a newly redone historic-age house (130 years old) in downtown Napa. A couple of things to highlight:

Easily walkable to the downtown Napa:
* 2 blocks to the nearest Starbucks
* Maybe 4 blocks to "BIscuits" -- a nice (albeit slow) breakfast & lunch joint
* About 8 blocks to the center of downtown, with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, wine tasting rooms, and boutique stores

By car:
* Being toward the south end of Napa valley, this is relatively quick to get to from SF
* Quick access from the home onto the Silverado Trail (which is the most convenient way to get to wineries, since 29 is a parking lot on weekends)
* Centrally located in Napa for groceries, general stores, etc.

The unit:
* Recently redone, old house. Tastefully finished. Wood and tile floors throughout.
* Nice open living area (kitchen, living room) with lots of counter space including a breakfast bar area.
* Only one bathroom.
* Washer and dryer off the kitchen.
* Handy blow-up extra mattress.
* Wonderful porch. Enjoyed many an hour sitting out enjoying the July 4 fireworks, a glass or two of wine, guitar, etc.

Owners:
* We met the owners on the first day. They own a number of properties in the area that they are personally involved with (e.g. rebuilding older houses).
* Very helpful with tips on the area, activities for kids, etc.
* Their hospitality really made the stay more enjoyable.

Local tips:
* Strawberry farm stand a mile or two up Silverado trail on the left. I've seen this place 25 times but never stopped until this visit. Holy cow! Best strawberries I've had since I was a kid and my neighbor grew them and we'd pick them fresh!
* Oxbow Public Market - walkable or 3 minute car ride. Not really a market as much as a bunch of high end little shops stuffed into a building. But the fruit and fresh veggies were very good (and very pricey), the cheese was amazing, the pizza was great, etc.
* Biscuits. Restaurant. Just google for Napa Biscuits. 30 minute wait for simple breakfast items, but they're good. Not cheap, but good.

Overall, a nice few days in Napa with the family. Pleasant and helpful owners. Cute house -- cute in a way only an older house can be. Nicely equipped.

Great location, comfortable and quiet!

  • 4 of 5
This is the place to stay if you want easy access to all Napa has to offer. We took our son for his 21st birthday. The home is in close proximity to restaurants, bars, wineries, and anything you would need for a wonderful time. That being said, it was very peaceful and quiet as well. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and sent us to some new wineries that we had not visited before. We would recommend this for 2 couples or a group of friends who want to enjoy some night life.

This home made our trip! Very clean and modern. The owner couldn't have been mor helpful and hospitable. Gave us lots of tips and suggestions for our girls weekend. Very detail oriented! The house had everything we needed and more! Pure luxury. She even had a bottle of sparkling and chilled glasses waiting for our arrival. Would highly recommend! We will for sure be back. :)

Great place in downtown napa

  • 4 of 5
This was a great "old" house with nice modern amenities in down town napa, walking distance to a lot of places. The owner is super nice, very friendly, took us through the tour of all of her rentals adjacent to this property. We booked early so we got the largest and the most updated one.

This one had a very small yard space, it just wasn't conducive to drinking wine in the yard at night and I thought the cleaning fee was a bit steep for the space but the rent is lower than most and she was flexible with the minimum stay so I think it was fair in the end.

Thank you for a great ladies weekend getaway!

beautiful house, great location!

  • 5 of 5
This is a beautiful house with an awesome location. We came up for a girls weekend and had a blast. The owner was really nice, and was super helpful in telling us all the great spots to wine taste at, go out to eat, or for live entertainment. She was really great to work with. Her house is very clean, inviting, well decorated/furnished. It was great to have a kitchen to cook in, make drinks, etc. Very nice backyard and landscaping. Its perfect for a girls weekend, romantic weekend, or a couples wine tasting weekend. The location is great, you could walk downtown or bike ride(the house has a few really nice bikes for your use w/ bike locks,etc)... Perfect central location to downtown and easy access to wineries. All around amazing property, location, and the owner was really helpful. We will be booking with her again!

Wonderful home base for a Napa Valley visit!

  • 5 of 5
This is a terrific place to stay when visiting the Napa Valley. It is very conveniently located, walking distance to many areas of the city of Napa - close to the Oxbow Market. The owner is extremely helpful and worked hard to make sure our stay was pleasant. She has a lot of suggestions on restaurants and wineries. She keeps up-to-date on what her guests have to say about the places they visit and she tries to get to different wineries each month. The yard is landscaped with beautiful flowers and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch. It was great to have a kitchen so we could hang out together and have breakfast before we left for a day of wine tasting. We also liked having a laundry area and off street parking. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Napa. We highly recommend it!
