East Boothbay Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom 1 Bath Cottage

SEAGLASS COTTAGE is a charming waterfront seasonal cottage that is nestled between a steep hillside and the rocky shoreline of Linekin Bay in East Boothbay. At SeaGlass you will be surrounded by nature...directly in front of the property is Perch Island, which is the summer home to several Osprey. To the north you will find a small cove that is home to lobster boats and renowned as a striped bass fishing hot spot. To the south you will enjoy panoramic water views of Linekin Bay, and might spot our loons or a seal or two. There is also a 200' long deep water dock that has a swim ladder, and can accommodate anything from a kayak to a large boat. At low tide there is a large 250' private rocky beach area (this area is underwater at high please don't think white sandy beach), that is great for exploring. Bring your water shoes!

The cottage itself loaded with charm and filled with nooks and crannies. It features an open floorplan with high pitched exposed beam ceilings, and is covered in wainscotting. Seaglass was recently renovated and professionally decorated with fun coastal colors. You will find upscale amenities such as new high quality linens, towels and area rugs. There is also high speed internet, wifi and a 32' HD TV. The main bedroom, on the second floor, is open to the first floor and is accessed by a small spiral staircase. It has beautiful pumpkin pine floors, a high pitched ceiling and great waterviews. The second bedroom is accessed by a ladder and is just a sleeping loft. It has a queen bed and two small dressers. There is also a screened-in porch which has a daybed, 4 cushioned chairs, a dining table and fantastic views. The bathroom is very small, has a small door and has a shower only. The shower is a little larger than a typical camp shower but has a low ceiling. It might be uncomfortable for tall persons.

This location provides a fantastic opportunity to get away from it all and relax, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views anywhere. But, if you are looking for more action, it is only 4 miles to Boothbay Harbor, which is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants, shops and galleries. It is only 3 miles to the popular Ocean Point where you can relax on the rocks and take in the breathtaking views. One of the areas most scenic hiking trails, The Linekin Preserve, is only 2/10ths of a mile away. Also nearby is the Boothbay Country Club, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and numerous boat excursions including whale watches, schooners tours and trips to Monhegan Island and Ram Island Light House. It is also a great home base for daytrips, with much of the mid-coast's favorite attractions within an hour's drive.

***IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Please note that our beautiful seasonal cottage is set near the edge of the Bay at the bottom of a 75 yard long hill. This unique location makes for a spectacular and very private setting, but does require a walk down the unpaved hill from the parking area up top. For this reason, access to the cottage for those with mobility issues would be extremely difficult.

The setting would also be inappropriate for young children, due to some steep drop offs.

The large dock, known locally as 'Daddy Long Legs' is also home to a local lobsterman's skiff and the owner's motor boat, who occasionally walk by the cottage to access these watercraft.

About Pam Cunningham

Growing up in Ct, I spent alot of time vacationing in Maine and always wanted a home here. I absolutely love the area and am so happy to share this beautiful part of the country with my guests.

Pam Cunningham purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Pam Cunningham chose East Boothbay

I love the peace, serenity, and the interaction with nature. There are 3 osprey that make their home on Perch Island, and many types of ducks, gulls and birds that feed here. The tides are amazing and the view changes constantly. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking and the only other houses you see are across the water. I also like the fact that the waters of the bay are very functional and usable. One can boat, fish, swim and kayak. The dock is huge!

What makes this cottage unique

The dock here is really like a pier. It juts out into the middle of the cove to the deepwater, so we don't have to worry about timing the tides for boating kayaking or swimming. The views are just spectacular!

Wonderful Vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at this little gem by the sea. It exceeded our expectations and we look forward to our next stay. A wonderful place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Great sunsets and a truly relaxing spot. Pam and Kelly were very helpful and a pleasure to meet.

Romantic Cottage on the Water

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated -- even the kitchen utensils were color coordinated with the rooms. The views were spectacular from the house and the outdoors had several places to dine and relax near the water. Pam is the ultimate innkeeper, covering every detail to make her guests feel very comfortable. While the walk from the road to the cottage was a little challenging - the view was breathtaking and the privacy well worth it! The cottage is not far from town and a decent gym. We look forward to our return next summer.

Perfection in East Boothbay!!

  • 5 of 5

Been coming to Maine for years, best place ever!!! So cute, beautifully decorated, and everything you could need has been thought of. The location is perfect, just perfect and the owners are lovely! The only downside, is the day you leave!! Quiet and beautiful, yet close to the action in Boothbay Harbor, if you so desire.

Sublime hideaway

  • 5 of 5

Seaglass Cottage is one of those places whose design has been thought-out and then thought-out again; it really works.

We, older couple, spent two weeks, middle end of September enjoying the Cottage: cooked, beach walked, read, kayaked, watched the tide (endlessly) and found time to visit the area, but found the privacy and solitude of Seaglass Cottage our usual preference.

Pam and Kelly were great; always available by txt, but never intrusive to our privacy.

Given the private setting, 200 foot dock, beautiful interior design and magical sunsets; I'd say this place is one of a kind in Boothbay and we would never stay anywhere else.

perfect get away!!

What a wonderful place. It is secluded but just close enough to do things also.

The place is just like the pictures, if not better. WE loved our stay.

We went into Boothbay many times and ate at many of the wonderful restaurants. What a quaint town. We did the whale watching tour , very nice. We also went to Portland one day and then Camden. The weather was great. I would recommend this lovely place to anyone. IT was just AWESOME.

Perfect stay - great cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Seaglass Cottage and had a great time. First of all the cottage itself is picture perfect. The listing is accurate and if you like the pictures (and the great style) you won't be disappointed! With the beautiful open views on Linekin Bay it's even fun to clean the dishes. Besides the cottage is very well equipped and comes with all kinds of amentities (see listing).

The Boothbay area overs a variety of attractions: e.g. Boothbay Harbor (boat trips), lighthouses, preserves with hiking trails, a botanical garden or an aquarium. You can easily reach Brunswick, Freeport (shopping) or Portland (1 hour drive), too. A grocery store is 5 minutes away.

If you travel with small children keep in mind that both bedrooms are upstairs and be careful with the dock. A playground is 10 min away and the Boothbay Railway Village 15 min - both a lot of fun for our 1,5 year old.

The owners were very friendly and helpful providing information about the area.

We loved the place and hopefully we can come back in the future.
