East Boothbay Cottage Rental Photos and Description
2 Bedroom 1 Bath Cottage
SEAGLASS COTTAGE is a charming waterfront cottage that is nestled between a steep hillside and the rocky shoreline of Linekin Bay in East Boothbay. With breathtaking sunset views over the rocky coastline, lobster boats moored in the adjacent cove and nature all around, you will experience all that makes Maine so unique and memorable. The huge deep water dock is 200' long, has a swim ladder, and can accommodate anything from a kayak to a large boat. At low tide there is a large 250' private rocky beach area (this area is underwater at high tide...so please don't think white sandy beach), that is great for exploring. Bring your water shoes! Seaglass Cottage is literally surrounded by nature...directly in front of the property is Perch Island, which is the summer home to several Osprey. To the north you will find a small cove that is home to lobster boats and renowned as a striped bass fishing hot spot. To the south you will enjoy panoramic water views of Linekin Bay, and might spot our loons or a seal or two.
The cottage itself loaded with charm and filled with nooks and crannies. It features an open floorplan with high pitched exposed beam ceilings, and is covered in wainscotting. Seaglass was recently renovated and professionally decorated with fun coastal colors. You will find upscale amenities such as new high quality linens, towels and area rugs. There is also high speed internet, wifi and a 32' HD TV. The main bedroom, on the second floor, is open to the first floor and is accessed by a small spiral staircase. It has beautiful pumpkin pine floors, a high pitched ceiling and great waterviews. The second bedroom is accessed by a ladder and is just a sleeping loft. It has a queen bed and two small dressers. There is also a screened-in porch which has a daybed, 4 cushioned chairs, a dining table and fantastic views. The bathroom is very small, has a small door and has a shower only. The shower is a little larger than a typical camp shower but has a low ceiling. It might be uncomfortable for tall persons.
This location provides a fantastic opportunity to get away from it all and relax, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views anywhere. But, if you are looking for more action, it is only 4 miles to Boothbay Harbor, which is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants, shops and galleries. It is only 3 miles to the popular Ocean Point where you can relax on the rocks and take in the breathtaking views. One of the areas most scenic hiking trails, The Linekin Preserve, is only 2/10ths of a mile away. Also nearby is the Boothbay Country Club, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and numerous boat excursions including whale watches, schooners tours and trips to Monhegan Island and Ram Island Light House. It is also a great home base for daytrips, with much of the mid-coast's favorite attractions within an hour's drive.
***IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Please note that our beautiful seasonal cottage is set near the edge of the Bay at the bottom of a 75 yard long hill. This unique location makes for a spectacular and very private setting, but does require a walk down the unpaved hill from the parking area up top. For this reason, access to the cottage for those with mobility issues would be extremely difficult.
The setting would also be inappropriate for young children, due to some steep drop offs.
The large dock, known locally as 'Daddy Long Legs' is also home to a local lobsterman's skiff and the owner's motor boat, who occasionally walk by the cottage to access these watercraft.

Growing up in Ct, I spent alot of time vacationing in Maine and always wanted a home here. I absolutely love the area and am so happy to share this beautiful part of the country with my guests.
I love the peace, serenity, and the interaction with nature. There are 3 osprey that make their home on Perch Island, and many types of ducks, gulls and birds that feed here. The tides are amazing and the view changes constantly. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking and the only other houses you see are across the water. I also like the fact that the waters of the bay are very functional and usable. One can boat, fish, swim and kayak. The dock is huge!
The dock here is really like a pier. It juts out into the middle of the cove to the deepwater, so we don't have to worry about timing the tides for boating kayaking or swimming. The views are just spectacular!
