EAST GALLATIN RIVER GETAWAY

Bozeman House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Enjoy a stay in our separate and private guest quarters on the East Gallatin River just 4 miles north of Bozeman in the Springhill area. Our home and horse pastures are located on 13 acres bordering the river with outstanding views of the nearby Bridger Mountains..

Our guest quarters has a separate entrance and consists of a full kitchen, two bedrooms (1 queen, 2 singles and a sofa fold out ) one bath and an extremely warm living area with a high vaulted ceiling finished in blue pine. Large picture windows provide views of the nearby Bridger Mountains to the east, the open pastures and fields to the south and of the trees along the river to the west. The living area opens to a large deck facing the river, which is an an ideal spot to just kick back and enjoy the serenity with occasional views of wildlife along the river. The table and chairs on the deck provide a great setting for an evening barbecue and outdoor dinner.

The East Gallatin River, which borders the westerly boundary, has walking trails and provides excellent fishing during the spring, early summer and fall.

The owners themselves have stayed at many similar guest facilities over the years, and pride themselves in their knowledge of how to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The house was constructed 15 years ago and was purposely designed to provide warm and private guest quarters for family, friends, and now for customers who hopefully will also become friends.

The location is just 4 miles north of the City of Bozeman and is very convenient to shopping in Downtown or in the various large stores. Montana State University, the Museum of the Rockies and Bridger Bowl Ski Area are all within 30 minutes driving time. More world-class skiing is one hour away at Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin Ski Resort. There are numerous activities and events throughout the year in the greater Bozeman area, and the owners are more than willing to provide advice and assist you in planning your schedule.

Keywords: River frontage, trout fishing, cottonwood trees, deer, pheasant, canada geese, hungarian partridge, ducks and abundance of birds of all types. Peaceful.

THE PERFECT VACATION

  • 5 of 5
My sons and I decided on a trip to Bozeman so that they could fly fish and I could escape the drudgery of reality for a few days. I found the East Gallatin River Getaway and decided it should be our home for just such an adventure. The experience was amazing before we'd even arrived. Dealing with Annette was so reassuring and made it so easy and accommodating. The house was perfectly located to be able to walk to the river (which we did, EVERY day) and get a bit of fishing in or drive into town and even head into Yellowstone for the day.

As for the house, it was exactly as pictured and very well cared for; a sense of home away from home. Annette and family were fantastic with any questions, suggestions or help that we needed while we were there. There were times when we felt we were staying with some friends, versus just renting a house for vacation. There was the perfect amount of peace and quiet, but folks there if you need them.

The views were so breathtaking that we felt as though we had arrived in heaven, and that was only minutes after landing and getting to the house.

I would HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful, homey experience where you can fish in minutes (successfully) as well as take advantage of the local flavor in just minutes.

Owner's Response: Heidi,
I want to thank you for such a rave review and also tell you how much we enjoyed having you and your sons stay at our guest quarters. I have told so many people about your sons and how they are avid flyfishermen and also very good at it. I will never forget their wonderful smiles when telling me about how many fish they caught and wanting me to tell Gary that they never did get skunked. You should be so proud, a wonderful mother whose sons were so happy that you could watch them fish. I do hope you come back to visit us even if it is just to say hi. Annette

IMMACULATE HOME. CHARMING RANCH IN A NATURAL SETTING. QUIET PEACEFUL GETAWAY. CONVENIENT LOCATION.

  • 5 of 5
We have stayed in this home and the owners are wonderful and accommodating. They provided such nice touches for a guest and were so helpful with our inquiries regarding activities in the area. You will stay in the very comfortable guest quarters of a magnificent mountain-style contemporary home surrounded by stunning scenery of the mountains and the cottonwoods.

So quiet...it is unbelievably peaceful and away from it all. Yet it's just a very short drive to the cute little towns and also the airport. It seems there is always some event going on in the area. There are nice restaurants, brew pubs and diners in Bozeman and the area. Don't miss Ted's Montana Grill for bison...delicious and better than beef. The nearby galleries and shops are great and the towns still have that authentic Western vibe.

Yellowstone Park is a great day tour. Also Lewis and Clark caves...interesting to realize they passed right thru here and you can still follow their path. I understand there is a dinosaur museum nearby. Really lots of stuff to do for any interest you might have. Golf, hiking etc., too.

Their river is just beyond a grove of trees on the property. The East Gallatin. Good fishing for everyone. We spent a lot of time on the river playing and relaxing. But you literally could just sit on the front or back decks the whole time and take it all in and be perfectly content. There is a big lawn and then native prairie grassland and trees providing perfect cover for the wildlife, deer and birds that use the river corridor for their habitat.

Overall, you have all the comforts of home and yet walk across the property to your own private fishing hole. You have your own private, secure entrance yet it's nice knowing that the owners are available if any questions should arise. Take advantage of them, they are friendly folks but will stay out of your way if that's what you want.

Wildlife viewing (deer, pheasant, partridge, eagles and owls) from the rear deck and on the extensive walking trail adjacent to the East Gallatin River. Excellent flyfishing stretch of river on and near our property . If you have not already done so, we would be pleased to assist you in lining up a flyfishing guide trip on one of the many nearby rivers.. We will also be happy to shop for your groceries with your shopping list, prior to your visit. This is paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and a great setting to kick back after a days activities..
