This breathtaking beach front estate is truly one-of-a kind. Casa Playa Bonita or 'home on the pretty beach' was given its name by our two sons. It is the only home directly on Flamingo Beach to sleep 14 people. This newly completed luxury home is 5,500 square feet. It has 5 bedroom suites, each with a private bathroom, making this home a perfect place for entertaining and accommodating multiple families. Each suite has a view of the beach and opens to the outdoor courtyard area and pool. The outdoor courtyard is made up of a large tiled area for lounging and a pool that accommodates all ages and activities. The shallow shelf pool is perfect for floating and sunning in the water or for little ones to play. The main pool is great for swimming laps, water aerobics, or just playing around. The enormous Jacuzzi has lots of seating including lounge seats for the ultimate foot or neck massage as you overlook the beach.
Casa Playa Bonita consists of 2 wings. The main wing is made up of 2 bedroom suites (a king bed with pull-out sofa and a queen bed with pull-out sofa), a gourmet kitchen, living room/dining room, private bathroom, maid's quarters, laundry facility with 2 washers and dryers, an outdoor grilling area and poolside bathroom. The second wing consists of 3 bedroom suites (2 queen beds and 2 twin beds). One of the queen bedrooms and the twin bedroom have an optional adjoining feature to provide flexibility for families with children.
If you don’t want to venture too far from the property, our home will provide you with the ultimate place to rest and relax in the lap of luxury. The home is constructed with custom finishes and furnishings and incorporates the beautiful wood and stone of Costa Rica with elegant style and design.
Additionally, we are extremely fortunate to have an amazing couple who work to take care of our home. Herman and Blanca are a married couple that tend to the home. They speak only Spanish but Blanca has been working on her English skills and we seem to understand each other pretty well without a translator. Herman and Blanca come daily and will see to every detail of making your stay relaxing, comfortable, and carefree. Our property manager, Yoko, speaks both English and Spanish. She will meet you at the house upon your arrival and will work with you to arrange tours and excursions should you decide to venture out. She is very experienced in the tourism industry and makes great recommendations for families and friends.
Our home is nestled in a beautiful setting of trees where Howler monkeys come to play. We often see families of them in the trees as we play in the pool. Our children eat mangoes from the trees and pull fresh limes as needed when we make fresh ceviche or guacamole. The 2 stand-up paddle boards and 2 person sea kayak add to the adventure. We delight in the ability to rest and refresh ourselves in our beautiful Costa Rican home. We know you'll love it, too!!
We offer free long distance through a Vonage line that allows you to call the US for free. Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): Two of the suites and the main house are all on one level. There are 3 shallow steps going from the main entrance to that level.
We spent two glorious weeks at Casa Playa Blanca this winter and found it to be an ideal location. The beach was wonderful and the home comfortable with plenty of room for our family of 8. Everything we could possibly need was readily available.
Our grandson loved the kiddie pool. It was a great place to play and the older kids loved having the use of paddle boards and boogie boards.
Herman and Blanca also added to our stay. They took great care of everyone and everything but were never in the way. We would recommend the pig roast if it is still available. It was delicious and provided leftovers for other meals.
We all agreed it was our best family vacation to date.
My family and friends were able to enjoy the wonderful home in July. We had 5 kids ages 5-12 and 6 adults. It was the vacation of a lifetime. The house was extremely clean and well-kept. Lisa was more than responsive to all of my questions and was a big help in assisting me with planning our vacation. It was great having Blanca and Herman to spoil us. Yoko was a great resource to have during our stay. The kids loved having access to all the movies during their afternoon break. There were so many beautiful places to sit for dinner, lunch, and games.
The house could not have been in a better location. We had our own private beach for 10 days. The kids (and adults) loved boogie boarding, walking the beaches, and taking in the beautiful sunsets. We walked down the beach to nearby restaurants and were very pleased with all of the owners' recommendations.
We travelled to Tamarindo for a day to shop and take surfing lessons. We also went on a canopy tour and catamaran sunset cruise. These were all in the house book we were provided. We referenced this book daily. We used Yellow Fin for all of our excursions. They were also wonderful. Even though there were so many more activities we could have done, we spent most days in the pool or on the beach.
I didn't quite understand the meaning behind "Pura Vida" until I was able to visit Casa Playa Bonita!
As a travel agent I have booked many trips to Costa Rica, but have not had the pleasure of seeing it for myself. WELL, this home is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned! The location is great and very convenient.
At first I was a bit intimidated at having "people" in the house taking care of it while I was there, but Blanca and Hermann are the sweetest people and it was actually nice having them around. I swear, Blanca was like a little ghost! If you put a glass down in the kitchen and left the room and came back it was washed, put away and you never even saw her! LOL!
Having the back patio facing the ocean was awesome. It was so lovely to sit there and enjoy the view and the grounds (which are immaculate thanks to Hermann). The pool and hot tub was an added extra because the they face the ocean too!
We were able to grill fresh food, take the boogie boards down to the beach or just walk the beach. Speaking of walking the beach, you can walk down your stairs, walk just a short way and go right up to Coco Loco's, they're on the beach and have a local drink
(we loved the Guaro!) and some yummy food... shout out to Franklin our favorite wait person!!
This house is gorgeous... the lay out with the separate casita's work great as you can't hear anything from the main house so it's very private.
I can't thank you enough Lisa for sharing your wonderful home with the rest of the world.
I really miss the sound of the waves crashing and lulling me to sleep every night.....
Yes, Pura Vida is now my slogan :-)

We have visited Casa Playa Bonita on two occassions and there is not a better location in all of Costa Rica. The house sits on the far end of the prettiest beach in the Guanacaste area. There is very limited access. Essentially you have an enormous private beach with great swimming and fishing in your front yard. The pool is amazing and we could not keep the kids out of it the whole time.
If all of that is not enough the house comes equipped with a Sonos System that is user friendly and plays any music you want free of charge throughout the entire house. There is Apple TV in every room so always something to watch if you desire, but honestly who needs a TV in that location. The nicest part of the house is the layout. None of the rooms are in the main house. The bedrooms are all along the pool so you have a lot of privacy. The only commonplace area is the main house. Really a great way to lay out a vacation rental. The house also has a full time staff to keep it clean and assist with minor things that arise.
At dinner time you have access to a fully stocked kitchen that has all the pots, pans, etc. you will need and a great BBQ. Eating dinner is even better as there is seating for twelve at an outside table overlooking the water or a table inside that was never used. Than when it's all done Blanca will help with the clean up.
There is no need for a car at this residence. Restaurants and activities will pick you up free of charge and take you back. If you want to leave hire a taxi or van. Cheaper and easier than a car. Yoko will assist you with anything you need.
My only minor criticism would be the cost. However, based upon what you get and if you are able to split the cost amongst two or three families it is well worth it. If you can afford the rate than you cannot possibly find a better place to stay in that area.
Pura Vida !!
A group of ten friends and I just returned from staying at Casa Playa Bonita on Flamingo Beach. The house is beautiful inside and out. The recommendations for excursions, restaurants, and shopping given to us by Lisa (the owner),Yoko, and Graevin from YellowFin were perfect for our group. After our visit to Tamarindo, we were so happy that we chose the Flamingo Beach area for our vacation for the quiet, peaceful beach area. Blancha and Herman were also very good to us. They helped us with groceries and keeping everything so clean. If I ever return to Costa Rica I will definitely come back to Casa Playa Bonita!!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this house, location and community. The caretakers and property manager made life very easy during our stay. Restaurants in the area were great with Coco Loco being a real easy casual hang out. Don't miss Marco Polo if you like Italian. The surfers in our family made daily trek's to Playa Grande (20mins) which is convenient and a real good beach break with 2 excellent surf shops. To our surprise a real nice point break left developed in the bay behind the house on a NE swell so indulged. All in all a great time.
We have the most incredible property on Flamingo beach. We are situated at the end of the beach so we have a lot of privacy. Every part of the house looks onto the beach. We are steps away from having our feet in the sand. There is nothing between us and the beach/ocean!!
Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, boating, rock climbing, health/beauty spa
