Once part of a country church, villa Ubaldo has been renovated into a peaceful retreat in southern Umbria. Though its convenient to the Perugia and Rome airports, with views of the Alviano nature reserve and distant mountains and an infinity pool from which to admire them, this five-bedroom home near Orvieto invites guests to simply relax and breathe in the herb- and flower-scented air.
Step out from the house onto the verandah, which is furnished with outdoor sofas and chairs and enjoys panoramic views. Stroll through the garden, which overflows with flowers and herbs, to the infinity pool and pool house, stopping, if you like, to lounge on the pool deck. Take full advantage of the sunlightor moonlightwith an aperitif or meal at the outdoor dining area. Thanks to the recent renovation, enjoy satellite TV and air conditioning in two of the bedrooms.
The interiors of Ubaldo nod to its past with wood beamed ceilings and floors, but have been updated for comfort. A dramatic double-sided fireplaces creates a cozy atmosphere in two living rooms, where neutral-toned sofas and natural-fiber rugs add a calm vibe. Flanked by a large fireplace at one end, the massive wood dining table has room for a feast of local produce. The charming eat-in kitchen has pretty green and white accents, gingham curtains and is fully equipped.
The villas six bedrooms can accommodate up to eleven guests. There are four bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms, one of which is only accessible by a private garden entrance. A fifth bedroom has a twin bed, and the sixth bedroom has a single.
For your convenience, theres a grocery store and restaurant located just 4 miles from the villa. During your stay, be sure to take a day trip to Castiglione in Teverina, 4 miles away, the protected oasis of Alviano wildlife area, a 20-minute drive away, and Orvieto, 21 miles away. Downtown Rome is only 56 miles away, and you can make your connection at the Perugia airport, 50 miles away, or the Rome airport, 71 miles away.

Arriving at Ubaldo was one of that experiences where you experience living in a dream ! The photos shown in the website are not worth the beauty of the place and its magic environment. There is a lot to do nearby. We went to Montalcino, Orvietto, Assisi, Florence... all very handy from Vaiano. The view from the house is astonishing. The fact that it was part of the local church is just magic. Very well furbished and confortable. Beautiful pool and varandas. The garden just perfect. All the scents of lavender and white roses... And the local fruits, perfect peaches ! Just perfect ! I would also like to note that the booklet available at the villa, with information on restaurants, etc. was value added.
