Upstairs, the expansive living room with its east-facing deck and adjoining dining room offer breathtaking views of San Francisco and the Bay, the Bay Bridge (lit by night), Alcatraz, Angel Island, Berkeley and Tiburon. Just imagine taking your morning coffee there or watching, with a glass of your favorite tipple, the moon rise over the Bay! The living room has its own wood-burning fireplace. The formal dining room seats eight, with French doors opening to the southwest terrace. Part of the living room is a beautiful breakfast/afternoon tea nook with Bay views. The upper floor also features a full bathroom with a glass ceiling, as well as an office/bedroom equipped with a trundle bed. It is best suited for one adult. There are hardwood floors throughout.
The kitchen is a chef's delight with Miele, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances and every imaginable cooking utensil. In addition, many excellent restaurants are just a 10 minutes walk down the hill to the waterside Sausalito downtown area.
The two main bedroom areas are downstairs. The master bedroom suite features a king-size bed, a wood-burning fireplace, TV and office area with adjacent bathroom featuring Jacuzzi bathtub, shower stall, double sink, separate WC and stacked Miele washer/dryer and lots of storage area. French doors open to the east patio and also to the south. The second bedroom is smaller and very cozy. It features a queen-size bed, desk, ample storage and French doors opening to the east patio. It also has its own private bathroom.
is beautiful and tranquil with orange, lemon and fig trees, Japanese maple, hydrangeas galore and a lush green lawn. It is maintained biweekly.
You will be just a few walking minutes away from the Sausalito Ferry which can take you to Fisherman's Wharf or the Ferry building in downtown San Francisco. Highway 101 north or south is one minute away. You can reach the Golden Gate Bridge in 3 minutes by car; another 10 minutes will take you to Fisherman's Wharf and 10 minutes more, to downtown San Francisco. San Francisco International airport is 40 minutes to the south by car; the Napa and Sonoma wine country is 50 minutes to the north.
The garage will contain our cars, but there is off street parking for two cars in front of it. There is one flight of stairs leading from the house up to the street level garage.
We are currently renting the house for stays of one week or more for $ 4,200.00, plus $ 160.,00 cleaning per week, and a $ 1,000.00 security fee. Please inquire about price adjustments for longer stays.
The house was extensively remodeled, earthquake retrofitted, a garage was added and it was formally landscaped over the years since we bought it in 1995. Since Simon retired from his practice in San Francisco we are dividing our time between the Black Forest in Germany and our beloved house in Sausalito. We are looking for careful and considerate guests to share this gem with us.

There is no question that the most beautiful feature of the house is its panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay. It is also a great advantage of the house that it is light filled and the sun will stay with you from morning to late afternoon.
