Greetings from beautiful Barbados! I am an American lucky enough to have met and fallen in love with a wonderful man from Barbados. Actually, I fell in love not just with the man but with his beautiful island home.
Owner purchased this condo in 2011
The views of Barbados' Caribbean Sea are stunning. Access to beautiful Dover Beach is right outside. The apartment is a spacious 2BR 2BA in 1680 s.f. on two levels ~ and it has 3 outdoor patios, laundry inside the unit, private parking, and outstanding security.
Location, location, location. Beautiful Dover Beach is directly outside your back door at #117 Sapphire Beach Condos and Restaurant Row is just a few steps outside your front door. There's also a small market across the street and little shops galore. You don't need a rental car in order to have a fantastic holiday here.
A wonderful condo (#117) in a fabulous location - right on the beach on at the eastern end. Don't believe what you read about 'The Gap' being noisy, it couldn't be further from the truth - at least not in late October when we visited. The condo is so well appointed and has everything you need if you want to be self-sufficient, but also ideally placed for an array of places to eat, which range from great value street food to more traditional restaurants - even they have the same laid back vibe that you get all over the island. We did though lose the shorts and t-shirts and ventured further afield for a meal at Luna Cafe. Don’t be put off by the name, as a cafe it is not. Maybe not as high end as say The Cliff, but the food was exceptional and the prices were easier on the pocket!
As far as booking and communication is concerned, Jane is a dream, giving you all the information you need and relying to any email by return.
We'll be back in flash........
Such an amazing return to the lovely island of Barbados. Thank you so much Jane & Monica for all your help. The condo is amazing. Very well maintained, location is perfect, and being foot steps from Dover Beach and a few minutes from the gap was a big plus. I wouldn't stay any where else for now on when returning to Barbados.
Our family of 4 including 2 kids, 10 & 12, stayed at this great place for six nights and couldn't be happier. The condo itself is well appointed, clean, and modern. It's located on Dover Beach, and the view from the unit is fantastic. The location is great. It is at the end of St. Lawrence Gap so it's quiet, but within easy walking distance to restaurants and nightlife in the Gap. There is a grocery store for all your necessities less than a block away to the right as you exit the gate
We hung around the beach the first day, had lunch at the grill/bar next to the condo at Dover Beach Park, and had dinner nearby. On the 2nd day, we walked across the street to rent a car (Express Rent-a-Car) and explored the island. A rental GPS ($B10/day) is recommended. We drove to Browne's Beach, Crane Beach, Bathsheba, and even hung around local beaches at Brightons and Brandon. All the beaches I just mentioned are beautiful, and I would rate Dover Beach (right outsite the condo) the best. I think Crane Beach is overrated. Browne's Beach is expansive, beautiful, but didn't feel exclusive; you can see the boats and the Hilton.
We booked a 5 hour catamaran trip through Monica whom met us when we first arrived to introduce the condo basics. This 10am-3pm cruise is recommended for snorkeling to see a whole bunch of fishes and TURTLES. It made 2 stops for snorkeling, and 1 stop for a beach somewhere in the west coast. Lunch and drinks were included which we thought were very reasonable. By the way, for a family of 4 like ours, expect a minimum of U$50 per meal. Don't expect this minimum at Tapas or Pieces.
We had wonderful dinners at Tapas and Piesce. Both have water views, great services, and very good food. However; we did break down and had KFC (close to Tapas) one evening. For lunch, our most memorable was The Round House on the east coast. We sat high above the cliff looking down Bathsheba Park. This luncheon was a great change of scenery.
In conclusion, Jane gave us a great recommendation from all the lodging options that we had. She was on the spot for what we were looking for, and we appreaciated that. She keeps a list of things-to-do in the unit. We did just that, and had a wonderful vacation.
Unbelievable vistas, powder white sand beach and the center of luxury from every corner of this brand new unit. It felt like our own home, never wanted to leave!
Beach access is right out the back door with private lock gate for added security.
Well appointed and so comfortable this unit has it all.
We will be back!
Thank you Jane
This was our 2nd trip to Barbados and our 1st stay in this wonderful condo. It has everything needed for the perfect home away from home feeling. The beds are comfortable, living room is cozy and the outside dining area is great. We made our breakfasts and lunches in the condo and enjoyed the ocean with our meals. The pool is amazing and the beach is just steps away. There are great restaurants within walking distance and the Bajan food being sold by locals on the streets is nothing short of delicious. We will be back for sure!
My family and I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condo in early January 2012. From the moment we entered the apartment, we were blown away. The decor is amazing and the stunning Caribbean and beach are right outside. The condo is located on the south coast of the island in Barbados on Dover Beach.
The apartment is on two levels. My husband and I took the king bedroom upstairs (with private bathroom) and our two teenagers took the downstairs bedroom with two twins (and their own bathroom). Both bedrooms have their own TV. There are three patios in the apartment: one off the king bedroom; another outside the downstairs bedroom which takes you to the pools and Dover Beach; and a third off the living room overlooking the beach and sea and beautiful grounds of these condos. The third has dining and is very comfortable for relaxing; we spent a lot of time here, particularly early mornings and sunset and evening time.
I liked the location of this apartment because it's away from the busyness of St Lawrence Gap but it's near enough that we could walk to many really good restaurants (Waterside is one we really especially enjoyed and recommend highly).
Dover Beach is outstanding. Jane (who manages the property and rented it to us) told us we'd love it and we really, really did. I was able to do my morning walks for exercise and the family enjoyed playing in the sea and sunning ourselves (you can rent umbrellas and chairs from a vendor on the beach very reasonably).
We really made the apartment our own during our stay ... We cooked in the first-class kitchen, lounged, slept like babies, got suntanned, and celebrated the new year the best way I could possibly imagine. I could not recommend this condo more highly. We're already talking about our next visit to Barbados and will stay nowhere other than this elegant villa on the beach.
Located on beautiful Dover Beach, one of the island's premier south coast beaches, AND in the famous St Lawrence Gap. With outstanding Caribbean Sea views, #117 Sapphire Beach Condos offers spacious and luxurious accommodations and very easy access directly from the apartment to the beach and two beautiful freshwater pools. Ideal for families and couples and friends who want a getaway to a paradise island. Stroll to little shops and many restaurants.
Don't miss dining at our outstanding restaurants such as Pisces and Waterside (call ahead to get a seafront table) - a five-minute walk - or Harlequin and Cafe Sol, where people-watching is part of the fun.
A must-do in Barbados? Swim with our beautiful giant sea turtles! The catamaran companies will pick you up and take you to the best snorkeling spots on the island.
Of course, if you want a lazy holiday, #117 Sapphire Beach Condos is ideal. Just walk outside to beautiful white-sand Dover Beach where you'll find beach chairs with umbrellas and all type of beach activities on offer. Southern Palms restaurant is on the beach ... grab a casual lunch or dinner and on Sunday stop by to enjoy the steel pan band ... sure goes nicely with a Mount Gay rum punch!
Barbados is beautiful, safe, and diverse. With #117 Sapphire Beach Condos as your home away from home, you're in for a real treat of a holiday from which you'll take home wonderful memories.
