This is the home my wife grew up in and then we ended up buying it in 2001. We held it as a yearly rental property but decided in 2011 to renovate it completely and use it as a second home and vacation rental. We went down to the studs and completely redid the interior with all new windows, plumbing, electrical, cabinets, 2 central AC units and refinished the antique wood floors. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
The downstairs is set up with the kitchen, dining and living room serving as a great room with a double-sided fireplace. You'll love the large new deck overlooking the river. The house is situated on an acre with lots of trees, bamboo and azaleas. There are neighbors on each side but they are not that close to our house and the lush foliage and trees will make you feel very secluded. All the amenities of the North Shore are just minutes away or drive to New Orleans in about 45 minutes.
This spacious VRBO had everything we needed - and more. Very well situated down a private drive with plenty of parking - but close to stores and interstate. Extremely comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and towels, and well supplied kitchen. We had 8 adults gathering for a wedding and there was plenty of room for us to get ready, cook, enjoy a meal together around the huge dining table, and relax on the deck or in the family room. Thank you!
Fantastic location on the river and everything needed to make it a very memorable stay for our Niece's first Christmas. Ray and Nancy made it so easy with all the little details thought through beforehand so the stay was low on stress and high on enjoyment. The location on the river was great while we were there, but also close enough to New Orleans and historic old Covington to use as a base to do some exploring as well. We really appreciated all of the touches of home that were provided and look forward to visiting this beautiful property again in the future.
We got to stay at this beautiful location while visiting family in Hammond. The airline lost our pack-n-play, but Nancy and Ray had one in the house! It made what could have been a nightmare into a non issue. We loved cooking big breakfasts in the morning in the gorgeous kitchen and sipping coffee on the deck. We can't wait to come back for another visit!
We loved the tranquil woodsy ambiance at Magnolia Bluff. The house was recently remodeled with beautiful granite counter tops in the kitchen and baths and gorgeous wood floors throughout the entire house. The house is incredibly spacious with very large bedrooms and living areas. We will definitely return!
My family stayed here for almost two months to spend the summer with relatives in the area. Perfect location to reach downtown Covington, Mandeville and Madisonville. Comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. Owner easily reachable and accommodating. Kitchen well appointed for cooking and entertaining. Everything in excellent working order. Would highly recommend for families, family reunions or people wanting to spend some time in beautiful historic Covington.
