My wife Paula and I vacationed with our family in the Longville area for 15 years before discovering this beautiful property on Little Boy Lake, our favorite lake in the area. I am a chef, and my wife is a physical education teacher, so we needed to keep both of our 'hobbies' in mind when building. lots of room for cooking and dining, as well as all the recreation that you could want from fishing, biking, golf, boating, canoeing, kayaking (Paula's favoite activity at the lake), and of course just relaxing on the deck with freinds and a glass of wine. It is our goal that you enjoy Bear Point as much as we do, and invite you to have as much fun and enjoyment on Little Boy Lake as we have discovered over the years since building the Cabin at Bear Point.

Enjoy your virtual tour of Bear Point.

Thanks for visiting!

Little Boy is a beautiful lake that is off the beaten trail and has a reputation as a quiet and secluded lake. It is private, yet only 5 minutes to town, with easy access to any necessities that you might require from bait and gas to restaurants and gift shops. You are about 90 minutes from Itasca State park, and the source of the Mississippi River.

Rustic privacy with all the modern amenities is the best description of Bear Point Island. While enjoying the seclusion, you can feel secure in the fact that you are never more than a few minutes away from whatever you might need including, groceries, coffee shop, bait & tackle stores, boat & motor service, golf, movie theatre, state parks, and many other outdoor activities.

FAMILY GATHERING

  • 5 of 5
The owner was fantastic in responding to any questions.

The place was clean and photos were accurate as to what was available for use.
We had a great time with a group of 18 and range of ages from 6 to 82. Great location. Lots of games available for those rainy days. The younger generation especially enjoyed the Wednesday Turtle Races in Longville:)

DREAM FAMILY VACATION

  • 5 of 5
We took our four children, their spouses and four grandchildren to Bear Point Island to spend quality time together and that is what we got. The home looks as pictured. My six year old grandson excitedly took me all around the house to see it. My fourteen year old grandson posted on Facebook, "This place is awesome!!!" We had plenty of room and sleeping accommodations to spare. We took leisurely trips on the pontoon, swam, and fished. In the evening we had bonfires, played bags, cards and other games. We were completely alone which we all loved. We also did a day hike in Itasca to see the where the Mississippi River begins. Of course, we took the little ones to the Turtle Races. Longville has a nice grocery store, liquor store and a wonderful antique shop. Doug and Paula were quick to respond to any questions we had and were wonderful hosts of the property. I would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a quiet and non-tech retreat where one can live in the moment.

2 WEEK FAMILY VACATION AT BEAR POINT

  • 5 of 5
While were a few little things that could be better (landscaping, a few trim boards missing and the not quite finished basement) the property was excellent overall and the owner Doug was nice to work with and really wanted us to have a good time. The interior of the cabin is very large and easily accomodated our large group which peaked at 12 people. The cabin has a nice floorplan and is finished floor-to-ceiling in different types of beatiful wood. The bathrooms are nice and the kitchen is very well equipped. The privacy and peacefullnesst added by being alone on a 4 acre island/pennisula made it easy to relax. We enjoyed the wildlife that we saw--several deer, turtles laying eggs, loons and a bald eagle. We would defintely consider coming back.
