Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants, led by John O. Meusebach in 1846. Although the settlement was on Comanche Frontier, the Meusebach-Comanche Treaty established lasting peace. Many older buildings retain traditional German and frontier styles, with over 700 historical structures in the historic district alane. Many are on the National Register of Historic Places. German is still spoken on occasions, and old German customs are regularly observed. Schuetzen Fests (marksmanship), Oktoberfest, Weihnachten, and Kinderfest, to name a few.
Visitors are attracted by the scenic beauty,, European atmosphere, and historic landmarks. Fredericksburg is home to the Pacific War Museum, and birthplace of Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet during World War II.

Beautiful, relaxing views.
Large comfortable detached house.
Great house, great view!! House was very clean and well decorated. All we needed was there. Loved sitting out on the deck an listening to the water fall in the near by pond. Close to town but felt like we were way out in the country. Will definitely stay there again!!!
So many great things to point out about this place not sure where to start. We stayed here for a ladies getaway and Winery Tour. We absolutely loved our stay here at Oak Haven Haus the home as well as the property is very comfortable, very clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. Located at the end of the road and elevated high on the side of a hill with wonderful views from the wrap around deck and the upper deck my favorite spot where if you look straight over the tree tops you will see a well hidden wind mill. Such great views in every direction and only about 10 min 4 miles from Main Street. This area is also a bike route we noticed a few bikers and little to no traffic. Cant wait to return with my husband and our son and his family and we will be taking our bikes. Also loved the little pond with turtles and the sound of water filtering into the pond so very relaxing in the morning and evening with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the porch. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything needed was provided. All you need is your own food if planning on cooking. The back porch also has a very nice BBQ Grill with charcoal and fluid which we did not use but a nice touch. Gavin even left us a map showing routes where the bluebonnets were blooming. We got some gorgeous pictures along Willow City Loop. He also left us a bottle of wine to enjoy for your stay. If taking a winery tour I highly recommend Texas Wine Tours had a great time and they pick you up and return you to the rental so you want have to drive after drinking. Gavin Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy this beautiful home.
Very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Huge porch with great views. The photos don't lie. Accomodated 5 ladies very comfortably and can easily take up to 8. Just a few miles from downtown Fredericksburg and less than 1/2 hr drive to Enchanted Rock (a must). Easy booking and the owner was very responsive. Couldn't have asked for more.
Thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at this amazing house. House is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Very clean and well maintained. Enjoyed coffee in the morning on the wraparound deck with amazing views. Went for long walks and enjoyed beautiful scenery. Beds are very comfortable. Very private but only 15 minute drive into town. We will definitely return again. Owner very helpful and a pleasure to work with.
Tucked away at the end of the street and elevated with a wrap around deck and an upper deck as well. It has a fabulous kitchen to cook in, comfortable beds and the feel of a mountain home. We will certainly seek out this property again when returning to Fredericksburg for another 3 day trip!
Enjoyed our stay at Oak Haven Haus with friends. The house was very comfortable and the owner made sure to supply everything needed for our stay. No trips to the store for anything other than some food items. We spent most of our time on the top deck admiring the gorgeous views. Thank you for a memorable stay. We hope to be back soon and stay at Oak Haven Haus.
