Our newly updated ground floor 3 bedroom golf front condo is conveniently nestled in the Heritage Crossing community of Reunion Resort. The resort is renowned for its 3 signature championship golf courses designed by golf legends Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus. These courses set a naturally lush and expansive backdrop winding through each community, providing the ideal setting to escape from it all while having everything at your fingertips. The location is equally ideal. We are just south of Disney World, yet free from the congestion in other areas which can make getting around very difficult. It takes just 10 minutes to get to the Disney World gates (after leaving the resort there is only 1 traffic light), and slightly longer to other area attractions including Sea World, Universal Studios and the Orlando Convention Center. If it is golf you’re after, there are over 50 courses in the area, most welcome the public. There are several nearby restaurants, and just across the street you will find a McDonald’s and Dunkin‘ Donuts, a CVS pharmacy, and a Publix grocery store.
The resort is located just 30 minutes from Orlando International Airport and only minutes from Disney theme parks and other major attractions. Reunion Resort is a 2700 acre exclusive gated, and beautifully landscaped community that offers luxury amenities to all guests such as: Annika Sorenstam's golf academy; 10 community pools; bike rental and miles of jogging trails; 4 world class restaurants; a state-of-the-art fitness center; a business center; a full service luxury spa; a kids club; arcade; beach volleyball and much more. There's also a free resort shuttle to get you around.
Our ground floor condo has two private patios facing north and overlooking the 12th and 13th holes of the Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. Off to the left of the patio you’ll see one of Heritage Crossings 2 community pools; this one is just steps away yet situated so as not to interrupt your peace and quiet. The unit offers a well-equipped kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and a granite counter-top that extends to provide casual dining for six. The kitchen overlooks a nicely appointed yet comfy family room with large french doors that allow your living space to flow outside onto the patio with breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The family room is well equipped with today’s technology including a 46” TV and a DVD player, an ihome docking station to listen to music from your iPod, iPhone or MP3 player, and a secured wifi for your tablet or laptop. Just off the family room is the master bedroom retreat, complete with a 40” TV and a DVD player, a private patio with golf course view and a large bathroom with a garden tub, separate shower and water closet. All bedrooms have pillow top mattresses and an assortment of pillow types for your perfect night’s sleep. The front hallway leading to the second and third bedrooms includes a closet with washer and dryer and the second bath which serves both bedrooms. The bedrooms are spacious and bright, one with a king size bed, the other with two full size beds, each with TVs and DVDs. The unit is perfect for families, extended families or couples traveling together.
As noted above, Reunion has numerous resort amenities available to all guests; however, the use of Reunion Golf Courses, tennis courts and Waterpark are for members or their designates only. We do not have a membership and therefore cannot extend access to these amenities.
We live in Texas and retired several years ago. We enjoy spending time outdoors and like to play golf whenever we can. Above all, we love to spend time with our family. Our children are grown with families of their own, every one of whom is a Disney fanatic! We have been visiting Orlando for the past 30 years during which time our family has created a lifetime of special memories in this magical place. Sometimes friends ask how we can still enjoy coming to Disneyworld after all these years. We explain that if they have to ask, they clearly have never discovered the magic of an Orlando or Disney vacation. There is much for everyone to enjoy here – more than just the best theme parks in the world; so much in fact that it can be overwhelming to first-timers. We’ve found the secret to a truly magical Orlando vacation doesn’t involve racing the clock to see and do everything in the parks, it’s about taking advantage of a well-executed escape from reality! We leave the chaos of the real world behind and lose ourselves in the beautiful, magical surroundings, seeing the World through the eyes of a kid again, and allow for some spontaneity as there is always something new to enjoy in and around Orlando. No two days are exactly alike – one day might be active and adventurous…another day could be spent relaxing at the resort and enjoying some pool time or a little pampering at The Spa. That’s why we keep coming back – we cherish making these special memories that will last a lifetime.
Bill & Karen purchased this condo in 2013
Our family, like so many others, is scattered throughout the country. Busy schedules and the need to make the most of everyone’s limited vacation time made getting together a real challenge. For 30 years we stayed exclusively on Disney property – you couldn’t have dragged Karen off property. But once we retired, we tried other properties to accommodate our desire for extended stays and more room for our growing family. It began to look like Karen was right, we’d never find a place that could match what we’d come to expect from our Disney stays. That all changed three years ago when we began coming to Reunion where, admittedly surprised, we had our most enjoyable vacations ever! We found Reunion’s beautifully landscaped and well-maintained grounds, first-rate amenities and spacious accommodations to be ideal for our extended stays. We loved escaping the crowds and congestions, yet still being within minutes of our favorite activities. We feel it to be the perfect place to come together, relax and have fun. We hope it will provide you and your family with the same pleasure it provides us. If you are working while you are here, we hope it provides the relaxing retreat you need at the end of each day.
We love the proximity to the grocery store, pharmacy, and take-out restaurants just across the street. That being said, the most unique benefit is the Reunion Resort itself. After staying at a number of other resorts we chose this one because it doesn't seem as hectic as the other resorts even when full of people. It provides us with quick access to the theme parks and area golf courses yet gives us a tranquil sanctuary when we need a break. We love it!
We had the pleasure of staying at this condo recently. The condo was exactly as described and pictured. It was very clean up to date with all the items you need to feel at home. There is multiple pools but the one near the condo was a two minute walk and very peaceful. Location was great for Disney and trips to hwy 192 for dining out. Also there is a Publix and CVS within a 1/2 mile which is great for stocking the condo. We would definitely stay here again. T
My husband and I are retired and enjoy spending time in the Orlando area. This was the perfect place from watching the golfers tee-off, blue herons and hot air balloon pass by. We have friends staying in the area, they also were impressed with Bill and Karen's condo. Convenient to Disney, shopping and restaurant . Property clean and well- maintained. Thanks again Bill and Karen.
I can't say enough about how well Bill and Karen communicated with me up to and during our stay. The condo is beautiful and offered my family of four more than enough room to relax after a long day at the parks. Great location as it only took us 15 minutes to get to the parks without much traffic. I've used homeaway in the past and always have had good luck, but this place was perfect! Bill handled all the details and made sure we had no stress and could just enjoy our vacation. If you're planning a trip to Orlando/Disney and you're thinking of staying off property look no further. Save $ and enjoy the space and relax in this huge condo instead of a hotel room. Thanks Bill and Karen!
This property was exactly as described. This was our second time at Heritage Crossing, Reunion, but the first time with this unit. Communication with the owner was easy and timely. Very clean property that was nicely appointed. We found ourselves saying, 'Time to go home.' - at the end of the long days at the park, referring how much it felt like home.
Thanks Bill and Karen for sharing your home with us.
This was not our first time in this condo, nor is it our first review (or even second). We continue to come back for one simple reason, Bill and Karen take such care of their condo and ensuring we, as guests, feel welcome and comfortable. We try and visit Disney a couple times a year and will continue to return to our 'home away from home.'
Our family recently took a Disney Vacation and for the very first time stayed off property. We were a little hesitant as we have always stayed on property and loved the convenience and how magical it felt. We are a family of 6 and no longer fit into 1 hotel room. We came across Bill and Karen's place on line and almost thought it was too good to be true. It seemed convenient to the park and like a beautiful home. We were not disappointed. The home itself was as nice, if not nicer, than a deluxe resort or deluxe hotel room on property. The grounds are beautiful, the pool a stones throw away, and lots of nearby supplies.
The condo itself was beautifully decorated. The layout of the home was perfect for our family. The kids' bedrooms were on one side and the master on the other. The beds and pillows are the most comfortable I've found. Including my own. It usually takes me a few days to sleep well when away from home, and this was not an issue. The black out shades in every room made it feel like staying in a luxe hotel and allowed us all to get a bit more sleep in the mornings.
The storage in each bedroom was amazing and I think the first time we were ever able to unpack everything and totally put suitcases away for the entire 10 days of our trip. The kitchen was perfectly stocked and we had plenty of room to unload groceries as well.
Our kids are still young and after spending entire days in the park, there were days we just couldn't bear the idea of taking them to a restaurant or fighting the crowds in the park. The condo gave us the flexibility to come back to the condo and relax. Publix grocery store is right across the street and we made several trips there to grab subs and or frozen pizzas for nights we needed something fast and easy. There is a Chili's on the way back from Disney on the same exit. We got online as we were leaving the parks and placed our order and picked it up on our way home to eat. There is also a dunkin donuts and pharmacy within minutes.
I cannot recommend this property and Bill and Karen enough!! We can't wait to spend another vacation here and wish they had more properties in other cities.
World Drive is 6 miles away or an easy 8 minute drive, in fact you only yield at the 1 traffic light (to turn right) after leaving the resort in one of the 2 routes to Disney. The other route gets you to Disney's Animal Kingdom in 15 minutes. Sea World is approximately 20 minutes. Universal is about 20-25 minutes away. LegoLand is 30 minutes. The Orlando Convention Center is 25 minutes.
