I stayed at Eagle Ridge during the Fall of 2011 and had THE BEST TIME!!! In looking for someplace to stay that was 'off the beaten path', near the water, spacious, quiet, 'homey', away from WI FI opportunities, and in a place to explore that I had never been before... Eagle Ridge was the perfect vacation getaway.
All of the accommodations, extras, and amenities provided myself and a friend with all that we needed to enjoy a week away from it all. Bois Blanc Island was beautiful to explore in the fall, and although we didn't fire up the available Jeep (General Woody), the 2-track drive along the North Shore was one I won't forget anytime soon... and neither will the dog that joined us in the back seat! Next time we want to check out the lighthouse...
Steve was very helpful in answering our questions (before and while there) and assuring us that we would have everything we needed - which we did indeed.
The wind in the trees, the waves lapping on the nearby shore, the woodland creatures that visited us daily, the QUIET, the unavailability of internet, the separate living spaces (upstairs, downstairs, huge outside deck with 2 umbrella tables and lots of chairs)... it all contributed to a most enjoyable week-long vacation and I will definitely be making plans to go back.
One of the highlights was finding Lake Mary and perching ourselves on the dock there to listen to nature and behold the untouched landscape around us. It was beautiful...
Thanks to Steve and his wife for creating a paradise getaway on beautiful Bois Blanc (Boblo) Island!!! If you have a chance, give him a call and get your reservation in now - the more people visit the Island, the more they will want to go back!

If you are looking for hustel and bustel, this is NOT the place for your vacation.
