We welcome families but we do not consider the apartment child proof and feel it is not suitable for children under 3 years old due to the stairs. We are 2 flights up from the street.
For stays of 1 week or more we offer complimentary towncar pick up from SFO airport. Parking is available on the street in front of the property. Enjoy a ride over the Golden Gate bridge and have lunch in Sausalito or ride to the beach or Golden Gate park. The bus to downtown is 1/2 block away and runs frequently and cost is $2.50 per person.

We are located in the Richmond district, a quiet, safe residential area with oodles of ethnic restaurants and retail shops. Walk into the beautiful Presidio area with hiking trails and wonderful views of the bay. Bike to Golden Gate park for Museums or rent a boat on Stow Lake.
We had such a wonderful time and I got glowing kudos from the other ladies for my choice in apartments! So comfortable, well appointed & furnished, beautifully decorated, great location, neighborhood...... We really enjoyed sitting on the deck for a couple of sunny hours enjoying your charming back yard.
Will not hesitate to recommend to others looking for a great place to stay in SF.
This was by far the nicest home I have ever rented. Janet thought of EVERYTHING; from the well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, to the bikes to use, the extra phone chargers , muni passes, and the computer with printer. You literally unpack and have fun - the way vacations are supposed to be! We will be back for sure.
I have mixed feelings about writing this review-- I'd like to keep this place all to myself and my family-- it's pure gold-- and I fear what I have to say will incite a rush (There's a history of such in San Francisco when people get a glimmer of glitter). Everything about the place is terrific-- the layout allows for privacy, entertaining, and quiet. It's simply but elegantly designed and suffused with light. Plus: your own parking spot directly in front of the door.
But let's start at the beginning....
We availed ourselves of the free pick-up at the airport. The driver was on time, courteous and knew all the best Vietnamese places to eat. On arrival at the "Chic SF apartment" (aptly named) we saw that our landlady had set out wine and fresh fruit." A good omen we thought... and we were right.
Everything was spotlessly clean and the flat is the best appointed place I've ever stayed at (or lived in). Whatever you can think of-- crockery, cleaning tools, a light bulb changer-- it's there. Plus: several things you might never think of.
When I mentioned to the landlady that we were having trouble keeping the coffee in the coffeemaker hot, her immediate response was to offer to get us a new one (Turned out not to be necessary, as we figured out what we were doing wrong). But we thought her offer was yet another sign that she was focused on our having an enjoyable, effortless stay.
Which we did, including daily hikes, many in the Presidio, which is about 500 feet from the apartment! The location, in fact, was ideal-- just a few minutes away not from only the Presidio but also the Cliff House (Sutro baths) and Golden Gate part.
Would we stay here again? If she'll have us.
Janet has equipped this lovely apartment to an exceptionally high standard, both in quality furnishings and beds, and in all the little touches like to lovely pottery fruit bowls in the kitchen and the great lotions and soaps. One feature that you can't see easily in the online pictures is how spacious and airy the apartment is. Our family of four, including two young adult children, had ample room to spread out and relax each evening.
Making our reservation was simple and Janet was enormously kind and helpful all through the process. Finding the building and checking in was simple, and having the dedicated parking space was fabulous (we essentially parked the car during our time in San Francisco and used public transit, just around the corner - multi-day multi-use passes are wonderfully convenient for a quick trip to the grocery store and for getting to all the major sights and areas of interest). The apartment was thoroughly clean (and my standards are high). Janet has clearly thought carefully about the needs of travellers, because any time we needed something for cooking or information about attractions or restaurants, it was right there for us. She also thoughtfully provided a bottle of wine and fruit help us start relaxing when we arrived.
The apartment is amazingly quiet for its location so near to transportation routes and small-scale commercial development. The neighbourhood is charming and has lots of local shops for food necessities and indulgences. We were also able to hop on and off buses coming home from the more touristy areas each day, picking up bread or supper supplies at Whole Foods or Boudin Bakery. Being close to the Presidio area and Golden Gate Park was great for the runners and cyclists in our group - they could get in a good morning session before we headed off to Chinatown or other destinations in the city.
Altogether a most satisfying and comfortable vacation, thanks to Janet. We are looking forward to returning for longer next time to really feel like residents and enjoy the lifestyle of this superb city.
You place is so perfect for us. The apartment was very well decorated and clean. You have everything for a perfect home away from home. We were real please with your place.
Our 2 kids loved having their little room and the porch view. They (and we) also love the fireplace.
Maps of the area and some suggestions on where to go was also helpful.
We loved having laundry available and full size kitchen and fridge. This was way better than staying in a hotel, and it cost less. The available parking was the most useful as it was so hard to park in San Francisco and would cost more at a hotel to park.
We will definitely be back when we visit San Francisco again.
Just returned from our 4 night stay at the Chic Apartment. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood but just close to major roads and public transportation. Parking for 1 car available in front of the property. The property is clean, bright, and comfortable. Perfect for my family of 4 with 2 young children. A perfect home base for exploring SF! Janet was great to work with and returns email almost instantly. Will look to stay here again in the future.
The apartment is located in a well-kept neighborhood with buses and restaurants around the corner. We are 6 adults visiting our children residing in the Bay area. The moment we stepped into the apartment we all said, "wow", and felt very comfortable, liked home. The apartment was exactly how it was pictured in the listing, open layout with lots of natural sunlight, well-maintained and clean. We visited SF Zoo, Pebble Beach-17 mile drive, Sonoma and Napa, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Monterey and Carmel, Golden Gate Bridge, Ghiradelli Square and many restaurants. Try the "Stinking Rose" restaurant downtown if you like GARLIC. We would definitely
come back to this apartment when in town again. Thanks Janet for providing us with everything we needed.
