Great 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with pool on the north end of Longboat Key. Longbeach Village is a neighborhood with 'Old Florida Charm' unlike most of LBK. You will be two houses from the bay (boat launch and pier), and 3 blocks from a fabulous stretch of beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Two restaurant/pubs (Mar Vista and Moore's Stone Crab) are also right there. If you enjoy boating, you can bring your own boat or rent from one of the local marinas. Go north less than a mile and you are on Anna Maria Island and near Coquina Beach. Go south and explore the many miles of Long Boat Key, including the Mote Aquarium, and finally the fine shops and dining at St. Armands Key.
The house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, as well as a 'Florida room'. Outside is a fenced-in yard with in-ground Gunite pool with plenty of chairs to relax in. A gas grill is also provided. Behind the fence is additional parking with room for a boat trailer or additional car. House has plenty of ceiling fans, air conditioning, 2 HD TVs, FiOS service with Phone/Cable/Internet/WiFi.
We are from the northeast, but have been in love with this area for a long time. Someday, we hope to live here year-round!
Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2013
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Longboat Key
We have always been interested in the 'old style' Florida villages like in the town of Anna Maria. We wanted a house, not a condo, and we wanted to be within walking distance of one of the great Gulf beaches. We spent a long time looking in Anna Maria before we realized that there was a similar area at the north end of LBK. It was everything we wanted!
What makes this house unique
1) Walk to beautiful beach
2) Private Inground Pool
3) Quiet friendly neighborhood
4) Steps away from bay for boat launch, fishing, kayaking, dining, etc.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Hi Steve, we are back at our home and would like to say "thanks" for sharing your home with us. My wife and I for many years have preferred private vacation rentals versus hotels or resorts, and yours now ranks very high on our list. I am already looking forward to future visits. The location is unbelievable, exactly what we like. Quiet, peaceful, not full of commercial development and high rises. So close to the bay and Mar Vista (did not get to Moore's....next trip). The bay was great for kayaking and so easy to access from your house. We paddled out to Jewfish Key and also went under the drawbridge to the gulf beach. That beach is fabulous; uncrowded, clean and just close enough to walk to and avoid parking hassles.
It is easy to tell that your home is not just a standard "rental". It feels more like your actual home that you go to. The quality and quantity of the towels, linens, kitchenware, dishes, silverware, etc. all show that. Great coffee maker, which I especially appreciated and there was a big pack of filters. The house was very clean and organized when we arrived, and we tried to leave it in that condition when we departed. Hopefully Svenja had a relatively easy job today. (She was very nice to bring me some replacement batteries for the remote control last Sunday) Although I must admit, I didn't put away the last load from the dishwasher. We loved the pool, it was clean, the surface and the pavers around it were very nice. Water temp was just right. Plenty of pool furniture too. Used the grill twice and it works fine. It was nice having some cooking items in the cabinet, like spices, oil, and balsamic vinegar; also laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and full size washer and dryer. A/C worked perfectly, TV worked, water pressure was good in the shower, no issues! Finally, I really appreciate your pet policy; our dog was very happy all week and she especially enjoyed going on daily walks through the neighborhood with us.
Loved the area and the house. We had a wonderful vacation with lots of memories made with the family. Loved how close we were to beach. The neighborhood was quite and beautiful with peacocks walking the area. We definitely hope to come back again! Thank you for renting your home to us! :)

Owner's Response: Thanks - please come back, we'd be glad to have you again!
We spent the month of June at this lovely beach house. It was so perfect for our family. We could walk to the beach or swim in the beautiful pool. We took a day trip to Siesta Key. We also shopped at St. Armands Circle and beached it on Lido Beach in Sarasota several times. The house had everything we needed. We made many lovely meals and wanted for nothing. We had such a wonderful beach vacation! Thank you Steve and Donna!

Owner's Response: Thanks Dana - it was a pleasure accommodating you! We hope you come back again!
The location was fantastic, within walking distance to the beach. We spent many afternoons in the beautiful pool with our family. This is a great place to take a family, as the pool and beach really provided us hours of fun. The house was clean and comfortable. We walked to Mar Vista for a great dinner one night which we really enjoyed. Also enjoyed the rod and reel pier for breakfast just a short drive away. We rented jetskis one afternoon and loved watching the dolphins swim beside us. Steve was easy to contact and left all important information easy to find in the house. We would definitely recommend this rental and hope to come back soon!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and felt like we got the VIP treatment. The house was amazing, extremely roomy and provided everything we could possibly need. There are two fabulous restaurants within walking distance and a beautiful beach with white, powdery sand about a 15 minute walk from the front door. Honestly though, we had a hard time tearing ourselves away from the private pool to even consider going to the beach. The entire honeymoon felt like paradise and the homeowner was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be renting this house again in the future.

Owner's Response: We're so happy you enjoyed your honeymoon --- you will always be welcome back!
Longboat Key has been redeveloped over time with multi-story condos becoming the dominant dwellings everywhere except in a small enclave on the north end known as the historic village. The historic village is a funky architectural stew with a few multi-million dollar eighties Miami Vice style homes right next to small fifties bungalows. It bears some resemblance to the feel of Key West. This home is a fifties 3 bedroom, 2 bath home that had an addition added at some time in the past to make a 1400 square foot home. The bedrooms and baths are small, as were most built back then. A recently constructed swimming pool is a great addition to the property. Neighbors are very close to you, but during our visit, the neighborhood was quiet. If you're looking for a quaint and quiet base to explore the area, this home is a good choice. We prefer this sort of lodging much more than a noisy, crowded resort. The owner has equipped the kitchen well with all you need to prepare meals. The living room furniture is comfy. Property negatives were minimal, the television was too small for the size of the living room, and the queen bed frame in the master bedroom was wobbly and noisy. If you're planning on traveling to mainland Sarasota frequently while in the area, it can become wearying making the trek south in slow traffic. If you're like most of us, you're on the key for one main reason, the beach. It's a short drive or walk from the home and it is a fabulous beach. While there at the end of June, it was remarkable for both the lack of other visitors and beauty of surroundings. Just a couple miles up the road in Bradenton, the beaches are crawling. Let's keep this beach our secret! The owner was very responsive to our questions and communicated well. All in all, things were well maintained. We'll definitely consider coming back again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback. We did quite a few improvements (including new living room furniture) when we were there in July, and I agree that a bigger TV would work in the living room. That's on our list for next visit!
Please refer to the aerial photo of the area around the house - it will show a great view of where we are and what's within walking distance. You will be surrounded by idyllic places to enjoy the sun, sand and water. You will feel like you are on a Caribbean island with perfect white sand and azure waters. The bridge at Longboat Pass connects Longboat Key to Anna Maria Island where lots more activities are available. You can walk here or better yet take a boat or kayak from our boat launch. Even by kayak you can get to Jewfish Key and.or Beer Can Point, where people congregate and soak it all in. If your dog is with you, you may want to take part in the daily 'Dog Thirty' where neighbors meet at the arts center at 5:30pm to socialize - with dogs and liquid refreshments! And at any point during the day or evening, two great restaurant/pubs are just footsteps away.
