SUPERIOR SANDS - A beautiful, three story, beach house with a 'green' electrical system powered by solar panels and other alternative electrial systems. Located on 200 feet of sugar sand beach on Lake Superior with a shallow shoreline and sandy bottom. Have fun exploring the nearby cliffs and bluffs and the Laughing Whitefish River just 1/4 mile up the beach with the two canoes and two kayaks with life jackets available. Built in 1999 with 3 bedrooms and one bath and a separate sauna to warm up in after a cool swim in Lake Superior. Hardwood, laminate, cherry floors in the kitchen, dining and living room make for easy upkeep with carpeting in the bedrooms, birch cabinets and tongue and groove pine walls on the main floor. There is a large deck on the north side with table and chairs to watch the sunset over Marquette, stars and Northern lights. Also a large deck on the south side with a new BBQ grill. The new enclosed porch with crank out windows and sliding glass doors in front and back offer a cool breeze if you wish to sleep on the futon. Walls of windows on the main floor and the master bedroom give you a spectular view even from the inside.

If you want a secluded location this is it. We loved the quiet and enjoyed the beach and waves. You do need to be aware that the location is at the end of a 3 mile sand/gravel road so trips into town takes some time. Owners are excellent and quick to respond to problems. Use of kayaks, canoe and paddle board save you from either hauling them or renting. Nice perk. Follow owners safety advice and beware that the weather and waves on Lake Superior can change quickly. Hope to return again.
The house location and sandy beach was outstanding. The views of Lake Superior are breath taking and the waves at night will sing you to sleep. Kayaks, a large canoe and life jackets supplied by owner made our trip to the nearby river and Seagull island easy and we returned to the beautiful sandy beach to grill hamburgers and S'mores on the fire pit. Our 5 yr old grandson's were in heaven. The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with. This was our first time renting a VRBO vacation home and it was a wonderful experience for us. We would do it again. Keep in mind they do not have a washer and dryer so be prepared to hand wash and line dry clothes or bring extra so you don't need to worry about washing them. We made the right choice to stay at this vacation home and it was an excellent vacation!
