This West Shore Rangeley recently renovated lakefront Cottage is located in the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region just steps from Rangeley Lake with great views of the mountains. Dine inside or enjoy a picnic or BBQ on deck or picnic table on the lawn lakeside. Enjoy a large lawn area, dock and great sandy beach with small private and protected swimming area. Rest on the deck or join your friends and family and play at the sandy beach in front of your home away from home.
Summer visitors enjoy boating or fishing from the dock while Winter vacationers enjoy snowmobiling directly onto the lake from the front yard. Early risers are treated to beautiful sunrises. The first floor contains a large kitchen with eating area, living room with large windows overlooking the lake and the deck, bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and contains a gas stove.
The two story house has a total of 4 bedrooms which will sleep 8 quite comfortably and 2 baths, 1 upstairs and 1 on the first floor. The bedroom on the first floor has a queen bed. The 3 bedrooms on the second floor are furnished with a double, a single, and a double and single bed respectively. The house is within walking distance to the Village of Oquossoc and 8 miles to the Village of Rangeley.
Swimming, boating, fishing, biking, and snowmobiling from your door while hiking, golf, skiing, antiquing, and shopping nearby. Many nice shops and restaurants are nearby and it's a short drive to sightseeing, shopping or exploring.
Enjoy fishing and boating directly from your own dock and snowmobile and cross-country ski directly onto the lake in the winter. The nearby town of Rangeley offers restaurants and shops as well as a library, museums and movies. During the summer months there are a wide variety of art offerings and festivals.
There are many activities and programs designed especially for children offered by the town recreation department, Eco-Venture, the Guides and Sportsmen and the Rangeley Public Library. Horseback riding, alpine and cross-country skiing, and ice hockey are available within an easy drive of town.
There are two public golf courses within an easy drive from the cottage. The first, older and more established course is located off of Rt 4 at the Country Club Inn. This course is situated in a rolling environment with great views of the mountains and lakes. The Country Club Inn has a '19th' hole for refreshments and tall tales. The Inn also offers a full service restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner in the winter and summer months. The second course is located on Dallas Hill Rd at the base of the road to Saddleback Mountain. While relatively new, the course now contains a full 18 holes and a pro shop.
Saddleback Mountain is an easy 20 minute drive from the cottage on the south side of the village of Rangeley. The mountain was recently purchased and the new owners have completely renovated and expanded the base lodge, have added new lifts and condominiums. A hotel is planned for the near future. Lift tickets remain at their traditionally low family rates.
