Fun Facts about the French Quarter:

The French Quarter is also known as the 'Vieux Carré' witch means 'Old Square' in French. It has been the center of New Orleans since the city was founded.

The French Quarter area was the first land settled in the New Orleans area because it was the highest elevation available. That elevation saved the Quarter from the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina.

A fire in 1788 and another in 1794 burned most of the French-built properties, and reconstruction was accomplished under the rule of Spain. To this day, architecture in the Quarter retains a strong Spanish influence.

In the late 1800's and the first half of the 1900's, the Quarter was less fashionable than today and housed many new immigrants drawn by low rents.

The later decades of the 1900's saw a revival of the neighborhood due to historical renovation, the 1984 World's Fair and development of the area for tourism.

I live in Las Vegas, NV have owned and managed the property for 8 years. I have always loved the French Quarter, there is no other place in the United States that equals the food the entertainment and of course the history. I have been vacationing in the French Quarter for over 40 years and just can't seen to get enough. I have 3 properties in the French Quarter.

Cathy Davis purchased this studio in 2005

I love the location, right behind Jackson Square an easy walk to all the hot spots of the French Quarter.

The unit has a Court Yard which is nice in the morning with a cup of coffee and the morning paper. I also offer two bikes with your rental, nothing like riding through the French Quarter on a bike.

Very nice location the courtyard is a added bonus

First of all this is a very cozy apartment. If you are a larger individual, this may not be the place for you.
The apartment is in a wonderful location and there is a added bonus of the street musicians, who like to hangout and play right in front of the locked and gated entrance. There is a courtyard that has a table and chairs so it was wonderful to sit with coffee or a glass of wine and listen to the music as it filtered down the entrance way to the courtyard.
This is a very cute LITTLE STUDIO with everything you need for a few days in NOLA. The bathroom is a bit small. I am a petite person and the shower was a elbow knocker. The bathroom must have the smallest sink I have ever seen, but you know what, it worked. Make a note, also, that one side of the bed is against the wall (which I saw in the pictures but didn't give much thought too) so if you are a party of two and frequent the restroom at night, you will either need to sleep on the outside or you will be crawling over the bed and couch at the end of the bed to reach your intended destination. The ceiling and upstairs floor must be thin because you can hear your neighbors talk, and lord help you if you have someone that is either wearing flip flops or heels because at 6:30-7am in the morning it is a rude awakening, especially if you have been out half of the night.

Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the apartment, probably one of the worst I have been in. Besides the layer of dust that covered everything, from the furniture to all the decorations on the walls, the floor was very dirty (disgusting, I wore shoes the whole time). Old, though the place may be, there is no excuse for a floor to have gigantic dust and hair TUMBLE WEEDS (not just dust bunnies) floating around, I was afraid to look under the bed. I brought this to the managers/owners attention and hopefully they have found a replacement housekeeper.

The biggest bonus to this apartment besides the music and courtyard was the contact persons. I had a million questions and requests and the responses were very very prompt and helpful.

All in all, a charming apartment, close to attractions, with nice features, but certainly not a place that I would consider for a long term stay (more than a few days) or for people of larger statures (things were tight). It would be the perfect place to stay for a younger crowd, in my opinion.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the 4 out of 5 star rating. We always appreciate our renters feedback. It is our desire for our guests to have a positive, comfortable, and pleasant stay at our condo. We advertise this condo as a studio and add pictures to portray the true size and décor of the space. Never will you see or hear it being advertised as grandiose. We feel that we make the most of the space and we love it. We have a cleaning service that comes in after each renter leaves to clean and prepare the condo for the next guest. There is no maid service during a renters stay. This condo has a fireplace (although unusable) which on occasion will get a bird stuck in the chimney. This has caused a considerable stir up of dust in the past and we've had to have the cleaning service comeback and re-clean. It's unfortunate that this renter didn't mention anything to us upon their arrival about any issues other than asking about the bicycles and a comment about dust on some of the art...which we immediately brought to the attention of the cleaning service. Our goal is to have happy guests that will want to come back and stay with us each time they visit the French Quarter...and indeed it happens all the time.

Comfortable, Clean and Wonderful location

Very clean and well maintained. Kitchen is well equipped, very comfortable bed with quality linens. The location could not be better. Just out the courtyard door to the majestic street of Royal with quaint resturants and amazing art galleries. A block away you find the hustle and bustle of Burbon street. The studio apartment was vey quiet dispite its close proximity to everything. Very safe with locking court yard door. We live nearby and stay in the French Quarter frequently. This is the first non-hotel we have stayed in and found the accommodations much better, more convenient and comfortable.

The owner was extremely easy to work with, very informative and responsive. We were provided with cell phone numbers to contact, although found no reason to use them. The keys were provided promptly through mail and the security deposit refunded days after returning the keys. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back.

Loved it. What else can I say? The location was amazing. Right in the quarter, close to the insanity and yet, other than the church bells, I didn't hear a thing. The place is adorable with a great courtyard so it felt bigger than it was. The owner very easy to deal with. All in all, seriously, a great place. Stay there! Only not when I want to....

Perfect blend of location and peaceful quietude nestled in the heart of the quarter. The property is clean and highly atmospheric--perfectly situated. Loved our stay here, and really appreciated the added element of having a pair of bikes to use.

This is probably the most wonder location available! We had musicians in front of the condo quite often. We were a short block to Bourbon St. A small grocery store a block away. The owner is extremely well organized; pictures answering any question you might have; he recommends a wonderful taxi cab driver. The condo is well-appointed and clean. This would be a tough place to beat.

Thank you, Lewyn.
