We are located on a quiet residential street with newer homes; all nicely kept. We are a 5 min. walk (or 2 min. bike ride) from the gorgeous Tigertail Beach. Our home is a newer, 4 bed / 3 full bath, with 2500 square feet with Southern exposure. The master bedroom is main floor with king bed and ensuite bathroom with separate tub and shower, his/her sinks, and walk-in closet. Bedroom has 27' TV w/cable and DVD. The second main floor bedroom has queen bed and adjacent full bath. There is main floor den remote from great room for solitude. The den has couch and chair, as well as 27' cable TV and DVD player. The centrally located great room has 21' ceiling, couch, love seat and chair, 32' cable TV with DVD player. There is a 'game' table with two chairs in the corner. The kitchen has ample room for several people preparing meals, new appliances, granite counters and snack bar with 3 bar stools. All kitchen amenities are present. The adjacent eating area has table with seating for 6. The great room, master bedroom and kitchen/dining area all have direct view of waterway beyond the pool. At garage entry is the laundry room with washer/dryer. Upstairs are two sizeable bedrooms; one with two twin beds (good for children), the other with a queen bed. A full bath
is also present. Outside we have ample space on the lanai, with patio table and chairs for seating for 6. There are 4 chaise lounge chairs for sunbathing, and a new Weber gas grill. There is also outside shower and bathroom. The pool is heated, rectangular with length of 30'. The depth ranges from 3' to 6'. Our lanai is screened to provide 24/7 enjoyment. We have a large boat dock for lounging or fishing. Garage contains plenty of pool toys and several bicycles.
I would have to say the neighborhood. All uniform age of homes; all well kept. Southern exposure so it gets sun from early morning and is warm early even in Winter. Direct access with short boat ride to Collier Bay, to Marco River, then the Gulf of Mexico. Also, I can walk to Tigertail Beach literally in 5 minutes, or 2 minutes by bike. You can also drive there (it is $8.00 to park). I will go there with umbrella or rent one, or to fish early in the morning or sometimes just to get an ice cream. My kids live there!
Marco Island is a beautiful tropical island with gorgeous beaches, shopping and a variety of fine restaurants. Ocean canal systems traverse the entire island. The island is easy to navigate by car, bike, boat and by foot. Sidewalks are widespread and conducive to biking and walking. We are a short 5 min. walk to Tigertail Beach where you will find a nice concession stand, children's play area, and beach rentals (umbrellas, water toys,etc.). You can wade across the tidal lagoon to the ocean side beach and a favorite activity for kids is to snorkel for sand dollars. Alternatively, you can walk North a short distance to where the white sand beach is expansive. A short walk further North is the beach at the Marriott Hotel; a great place to have lunch/drinks with beautiful scenery. In addition, there is South Beach, at the other end of the island which has public parking. Visitors will enjoy shopping on the island, as well as a short distance off the island at the Naples Outlets. There are high end boutiques and an upscale mall in Naples. There are two well equipped marinas for boat rental which is very popular. With a boat one can travel the canals, fish, enjoy Marco or Isle of Capri dockside restaurants, or visit one of the near-shore islands (Keewaydin Island) located a short distance up the intracoastal waterway which also leads to Naples. There is excellent fishing in the backwaters of Marco, and the nearby Thousand Islands, or take one of the excellent charters out of Marco River Marina. Also, fishing can be quite good depending on the season right from our dock. We have caught snook, snapper, sea trout, redfish and mackerel with live shrimp. Renting a boat is the best way to see the numerous dolphin in Marco River. Another popular activity is renting kayaks and traveling the waterways, fishing, bird watching or collecting shells. There are many relatively close golf courses, particularly near Naples; with a driving range just off the island. The island has many excellent restaurants, as well as on the Isle of Capri, and even more in Naples. We are approximately 1 hr. from the Everglades National Park, which has excellent tours. Miami is 2 hrs. away. Disneyland is 4 hrs. away. Naples has excellent beaches as well as a nice zoo for the kids. Have a dinner cruise on the Marco Island Princess ship (docked at Marco River Marina). An enjoyable bike ride is to the southern tip of the island to Caxambas Pass boat launch. There is a small ship store where ice cream and pop can be purchased. Take a rest on a park bench and watch the boats. This is also the site of embarking on jet-ski tours. If you are in need of rest and relaxation, it is always enjoyable to hang around the pool and sunbathe in relaxing solitude. We find the two grocery stores to be more than adequate. A specialty seafood store (Paradise Shrimp) is nearby. There is also a public library, tennis courts and a fitness center. Lastly, Marco has a unique movie theater, Marco Theater, with 4 screens and new release movies. They serve light lunch/dinners/drinks during the movie. We believe Marco Island and the nearby attractions offers something interesting and enjoyable for everyone. We are certain your trip will be enjoyable.
