Lovely 2 bedroom home nestled in tropical garden; short walk to beach

It was hard to leave this lovely little piece of paradise after spending 7 days feeling at home at Casa Carole! Everything was as expected when we arrived - complete kitchen, big bedrooms, cozy living room with a nice little patio surrounded by lush gardens overlooking a refreshing swimming pool. Felt very private despite being shared by others in the six-villa complex. We loved how close a walk it was to the glorious beach (5 minutes max) and amazed at how uncrowded it was. Gorgeous sunsets and fabulous surf (boogie boards provided by Casa Carole). This little neighbourhood in Playa Grande is removed from the busy-ness of Tamarindo yet just a water taxi ride away. A very short walk to the grocery store kept us stocked up on all we needed and with Hotel Bula Bula just down the road, an evening drink with the local neighbours would wrap up our days spent out an adventure or just sitting by the pool with a good book and the sound of nature all around us. Alyssa, the property manager, was just a phone call away and she was helpful both with any household questions or helping secure our tours for the week. Wi-fi was available without any service issues or interruptions - just like home! Casa Carole also had lots of board games to keep busy in case of rain - (which we didn’t get) and A/C in the bedrooms so sleeping and napping were no problem in the heat.

We spent a wonderful week at Casa Carole, the villa is exactly as described and it a tropical paradise. It is very private with a wonderful pool steps from the villa. We found everyone friendly and very helpful and more than willing to provide suggestions on the many activities to do. Carole's directions and suggestions were all very accurate. The beach is a 5 min walk away and provides hours of relaxation and wonderful sunsets, we joined the locals daily to see the changing colors. We had a great mix of activies and pure relaxation, the nearby hotel has great food and lively bar which seems to be the local meeting place, I highly recommend the house special Margarita! We rented a car for the last couple of days and explored other local beaches and had great adventures each day. One of the many highlights was our Canopy tour. It was a great week and would recommend it without hesitation.

Quiet, laid back vacation perfect for very early morning walks along the beach and nightly sunset watching. Howler monkeys can be heard and seen making their way through the treetops. Quiet nights except for the occasional carrying on of the howlers during the night. Casa Carole was clean, comfortable ... beautiful gardens ... exotic birds ... great manager always willing to answer questions, give suggestions for outings, etc. We did rent a car to explore the region and made a two day trip to Arenal Volcano and the Santa Elena area. Be prepared for the heat ... if you are planning to walk the beach, do so very early in the morning - by 6:00 a.m. and plan to have a long siesta in the heat of the day.
