You can find Mexican, Russian, French and Italian restaurants with ease, not to mention a plethora of establishments serving food from every corner of Asia.

Lincoln Park: Most people know Lincoln Park for two things: The Palace of the Legion of Honor and the golf course. Fewer know about the park's easy access to Land's End and a portion of the Coastal Trail that runs about six miles along the bluff above the sea, from Baker Beach to Ocean Beach. Walkers along this path will be treated with incredible views.

The California Academy of Sciences Its fantastic, you have to go.

Muni Bus system:

If you intend to ride the cable cars, then it is cheaper to buy a bus pass, the fare on the 1 California bus downtown is $2.00 and the cable cars are $5 so its better value to get a bus pass. The passes are for consecutive days.

• 7-day Passport $27

Passports may be purchased on the Muni website or at the Airport, SFO Information Booth (Baggage Claim area)

Renting a zipcar by the hour or day is another option if you would like to explore outside of the city. Please visit zipcars website for more information.

Guestbook comments from the owner
I have certainly enjoyed my stay at "the cottage"

It is a wonderful alternative to a hotel room-very warm and homey. Thank you again.

We are frequent users of VRBO and it has allowed us to explore both domestic and international destinations. We love San Francisco and want to share it with fellow travelers. We live upstairs and are a very active family that enjoys all the SF and our neighborhood has to offer. We have a lot of suggestions for places to dine in SF and the neighboring towns. Triathlete with a lot of suggestions on the best places to train in the area. Also, a great location for those who want to compete in any of the marathons or triathlons in the city.

We love San Francisco and wanted to raise our family here.

Our neighborhood is a great place to enjoy San Francisco like a local. There are wonderful parks, restaurants and museums within walking distance

VERY NICE SF STUDIO

  • 4 of 5
This rental is great. It was my first time in SF. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The location was perfect for our purposes. We would definitely stay here again.

Things we liked the most
For a studio, it has well defined areas
If you want to avoid the touristy areas, this is a great location
Located between Presidio and GG Park
Many transit options within walking distance
Clean
Quiet
Very comfortable bed
Affordable

Things we liked the least
No washcloths available
-There were large towels for drying ourselves after showering and hand towels for drying our hands after washing them, but we had to go buy something to wash with in the shower. When we called the owner, we were told none were available and no one had ever asked about this before. That seemed weird to me.
No option to cover large window in living room
-There is a large gorgeous picture window in the living/dining area that looks out into the patio/garden. It lets in tons of light, which is nice in a lower level unit. But the only option for reducing the amount of light was thin, sheer (read: see-through) curtain panels. It didn't feel very private when changing clothes or settling in for the evening.
No luggage/suitcase stand
-The unit is nicely decorated, but there weren't very many surfaces that were suitable for holding an average size piece of luggage. The floor seemed the only option. We used a dining room chair to hold our suitcase the whole trip. It was a little awkward, but we made it work.

BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT IN PERFECT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
Thank you to Liz and Luis for a wonderful stay in SF! The apartment is beautiful and well appointed, and we had everything we needed for our three night/four day stay. I used to live in the neighborhood and loved being back. It's the perfect spot to be close to the parks, ocean, and to quickly get downtown. So much better than a hotel and allowed us to relax and be away from tourist central (i.e. most hotels). Was great having a full kitchen and all the things we needed to make a few meals, and we loved how bright the apartment is given the windows looking onto the beautiful backyard space. Liz and Luis responded quickly to our questions and had a wealth of information available in the apartment (in case you're not familiar with the area). Will not hesitate to stay here again and already planning another trip for next year! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

QUIET SUNNY STAY

  • 4 of 5
We really enjoyed the quiet sunny private space this rental offered. The unit was well equipped with many new appliances and décor. The neighborhood is wonderful for walkers with lots of open space for hikes, golf near by, and great cafes and markets for food and fun. Perfect for a couple or weekend city get-away. Close to two Muni bus lines. The back yard space was sunny and furnished; great for sitting and visiting with friends. Would rent it again!

WONDERFUL APARTMENT

  • 5 of 5
We have stayed at this apartment twice. It is well equipped in a lovely garden. The apartment is quiet. Very conveniently located for the
Inner Richmond and Golden Gate Park. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Only shortcomings are the placement of the bed in a small alcove, making it hard to get in and out and parking can be tricky. But we will return when we can.

PEACEFUL, SERENE PLACE TO UNWIND

  • 5 of 5
This apartment was a beautiful, quiet place to unwind after our adventures in the city.

The apartment is situated in a safe, residential neighborhood approximately one block from public transit that will take you anywhere in the city. There are many great restaurants along California and Clement Streets. Mandalay Burmese restaurant is a must!! Presidio Liquors on California was very convenient for the purchase of light snacks and wine, etc. Enterprise car rental is located three blocks south at the corner of 7th Avenue and Geary (They were very helpful) and there is overnight parking very near the rental office.

Loved the apartment. Can't wait to return!!
