Casa Paz is a two story house located at the top of Gringo Hill, just a 5 minute walk to Sayulita's downtown plaza and the beach. Staying at Casa Paz in Sayulita is an excellent choice if you are looking for quiet and calm surroundings, yet remaining close to the vivid Sayulita center, with all the great food, shops, local art, music, surfing, fishing and the beach life it has to offer. You can hike to several beaches close by, go horseback riding, whale watching, rent a kayak or stand up surfboard. The list goes on; there is so much to do, or nothing to do, as you wish. Casa Paz is a place you don't have to leave to feel like you are on a great vacation!
The location of Casa Paz really makes it a hidden gem. Nestled in the tree tops you feel like you are on top of the world, among tropical birds and butterflies, with amazing ocean views and cool ocean breezes (which are priceless in the warmer weather). Located on the ocean side of the hill, you'll enjoy all this from your terrace away from it all. Your view includes the little town of San Pancho, also known as San Francisco, just North, up the coast from Sayulita. You can even see and hear the waves from the house; a great way to lull yourself to sleep and wake up to. Casa Paz also has it's own beautiful garden for you to enjoy, with lime tree, banana trees, cocoa and palm trees and many varied colored foliage and flowers!
The downstairs terrace at Lower Paz is the place to relax during the warmer hours of the day. The terrace stays nice and cool during the day and is perfect for relaxing or reading a book, lots of bird watching, where you are nestled in the garden, but still have ocean views and breezes.
For the sun lovers, the upstairs terrace at Upper Paz offers a spot in the sun, yet still providing shade, with an amazing ocean view and those priceless ocean breezes. Whether you prefer the upper or lower Paz both, each offer a charcoal barbeque where you can enjoy an evening barbeque, all while watching the sun set across the Pacific Ocean; a great way to end the day!
Upper Paz is a studio with a bed and a sofa bed, so can sleep 1 to 4.
Lower Paz is a one bedroom, with a living room, which also has a sofa bed, so it too can sleep 1 to 4.
For larger groups you may prefer to rent the whole house. All rates are provided to suit your needs.
Both have full kitchens with 4 burner gas stove tops, refrigerators, toaster ovens, coffee makers, blenders and bottled water. Dishes, utensils, pots and pans are all provided as well as towels and linens. Both units also have safes and charcoal barbeques. For your convenience there is a washing machine on the premises; laundry soap is provided.
Wi-fi internet is also included.
There are many grocery stores in Sayulita, as well as fresh vegetable and fruit stands, butcher shop and fish markets, providing much of what you may need if you prefer to cook at home. On Fridays, from 10am to 2pm there is a Farmers Market where you can find fresh produce; lots of local art; freshly made food of all kinds; jewelry, organic products and lots more. Great place to catch a good lunch on Fridays; take it home or eat it there.
There are also many good restaurants and street side eateries to enjoy, all within a few minutes walk from Casa Paz. The biggest challenge is choosing which one you want to try next. You can check out some of our recommendations under Location/Recommended Places for these and other information.
Another alternative is to have a meal catered right in the comfort of Casa Paz. You can have a professional gourmet meal, specially made for you by international, private chef Sofia Silva Sanchez; she has experience in international cuisine and will bring everything she needs to prepare you an amazing meal. You can check out her website for menus and reviews at http://www.sayulitachef.com.

Information about Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico:
The Sayulita area has been named as one of the best areas in the world to retire in and was featured as such in AARP and Retire Worldwide. Sayulita was also voted the number one International location to travel with children by the Today Show and Travel & Leisure Magazine in 2010. It continues to gain popularity internationally, for more than just surfing with all the great galleries, community spirit, restaurants, friendly and inviting atmosphere, trendy shops, activities in nature, bird and whale watching, fishing, and more.. There is a lot to do here, but the relaxing lifestyle affords you the luxury to do nothing at all.
Finding Casa Paz is easy
Sayulita is about a 40 to 45 minute trip by car or taxi and a one hour trip by bus from the Puerto Vallarta Airport. You can catch the bus by going across the walkway bridge that goes over the highway in front of the airport. The bus will be green and white and should say Sayulita on it. You can inquire before getting on. A taxi should cost you around $55.00 to $60.00 U.S., but willl bring you directly to the house; the bus will cost you about 30 pesos per person and you will either need to walk to take a local taxi to the house.
* When you come into Sayulita follow Avenue Revolucion straight to the main Plaza and take a left at the Plaza onto Calle Marlin.
* Continue up Calle Marlin and take the first left onto Gabriel Rodriguez.
* Continue up Gabriel Rodriguez; it will curve to the right and then continue straight up.Take the second right onto Calle Las Palmas; then take the first right.
* Take the first right again and you will come straight into the parking space in front of Casa Paz... You will see steps going down to the house on the right hand side and you are there.
You are now just a 5 to 7 minute walk to the Beach and to Sayulita's main Plaza!
