Our home has been completely renovated and offers our guests every amenity, including a full completely remodeled kitchen with dishwasher, microrange, an upscale gas grill stove top, oven, double stainless steel refrigerator and center island and every cooking utensil you could want or need. Our home has three lovely bedrooms, one of which has a king size bed, another a queen, and a third with a pull out queen. There are two large flat screen TV's and a smaller TV in the kitchen to entertain and/or inform when you are preparing meals. We also have a DVD and an extensive video library. There is a small office upstairs complete with printer and scanner and the house has WIFI. The laundry washer and dryer are in the basement. Other rooms are a large dining room, sitting 8, a living room downstairs with a nice library, along with the kitchen, and a completely redone bath. There is an additional remodeled bathroom upstairs. The home has 4 fireplaces, the one in the living room is gas. There is a front porch for evening and afternoon sitting to view beautiful Meadow Street Park across the street. Their is a small patio area off of the kitchen in the back of our home with a table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining. The Fan is not only historic but fun. It's a great location for walkers, a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Carytown and almost 80 restaurants within walking distance, many of Richmond's best. We are a short walk to all of Richmond's outstanding museums including the Virginina Museum of Fine Arts. Richmond is centrally located to many Civil War sights and battlefields and only an 90 minute drive to the Shennadoah Valley to the west and the beaches at Virginia Beach to the east. We are only a short 45 minute drive to Williamsburg, Virginia and just two hours to Washington DC. The spring in Richmond is fantastic, and the fall is sooooo beautiful.

I am originally from the east coast but have lived out west in California and Arizona for the last 30 years, San Diego, Tucson and Lake Tahoe. My wife, Shirley, and I, when our three children moved away from home, wanted to return to the eastern seaboard and a four seasons climate. In Richmond we have found a wonderful, charming and historic community to do just that. We also wanted to be in an urban setting and in an historic area and Richmond met our requirements on every level. I was a newspaper publisher/owner for the last 22 years and before that a banker.
Dale Good purchased this house in 2010
Because of its history and beauty and the charm and character of the 'Fan District' and it's people. Wonderful urban era for walking and enjoying the history and charm of the neighborhood.
We can walk to almost everything. Museums, restaurants, shopping, sporting events. We are also close to the beautiful Shennadoah Valley and Williamsburg and Washington DC.
We've lost track of the number of our stays~they've all
From the moment we arrive our home away from home is truly perfection! The house is beautifully decorated, spotless with every amenity you can think of. It's comfortable with that warm inviting feeling that the south is so famous for! The downstairs boasts a living room and dinning room with fabulous art work
that makes for a great place to relax and to enjoy a wonderful
meal that can be prepared in the state of the art kitchen. It
has every appliance you can think of and makes cooking in
very enjoyable. The master bedroom houses one of the
most wonderful King beds that makes for a wonderful nights
sleep and calls to you to enjoy lazy lounging mornings.
The TV room with the two comfortable reclinders with the flat screen HDTV is one of our favorite spots after being out
exploring all Richmond has to offer!
The Va Musuem, the Civil War sites, the Childrens Musuem, the shops in Carytown, the Fan area with it's biggest collection of Victorian homes and the quaint neighborhood restaurants with some of the best foods to be savored are just some of the reasons Richmond is one of the top fun filled destinations that
was also voted the Friendliest City!
No matter whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, a family, or group of friends this house is a GREAT find. The owners are
as delightful as their home. They have always been available
and happy to answer any questions but, never intrusive.
For us, there's no other place we would want to stay, this is our
place to be when we come home to wonderful Richmond...
If you would like to stay in a beautiful home during your time in Richmond, this extremely well-maintained townhouse in the Fan District is a hidden gem. Beautifully decorated and super comfortable. For those visiting with a family, avoid the trouble of trying to reserve adjoining rooms or suites in a hotel (at much higher cost), and rent this townhouse at a very reasonable price. It's much more conveniently located to the museums, restaurants, government offices, and entertainment venues in Richmond than the big hotels outside of downtown. Plus there's a full kitchen, a dining room, a living room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and even a laundry room. Parking was very easy to find within steps of the townhouse. And the Fan District is just absolutely beautiful. It's got to be one of the most charming urban neighborhoods in the United States. We look forward to visiting again.
What a warm, cozy, immaculate home! The owner flexible, accomodating. Shared the home with 2 friend and my son and his girlfriend. Everything was great.
Only 1 negative....thought there were 2 queen beds in addition to the king master. One queen was a pull out couch and not comfortable for 2 adults. Kids would probably be fine.
Lovely, charming, historic home in The Fan. It was perfect for our stay in Richmond. Kitchen is modern and very well equipped. You can walk to many really good restaurants. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions
My family rented this house over the weekend of my brother's wedding at the Valentine Museum. The location couldn't have been better. The neighborhood is adorable and the house is within walking distance of everything that is great about Richmond. The house is great! It is wonderfully decorated and feels like a real home. The kitchen is fully stocked with every pot or tool you'll need. The owner Dale was helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. I would definitely return.
Ever wonder what it would be like to live in a historic townhouse? This is it! The house is one of many lovely homes in the historic Richmond Fan district, where one can easily walk to great neighborhood restaurants and markets, parks, and museums -- or just stroll around looking at all the other lovely houses. The house itself is delightfully decorated, the bedrooms very comfortable, and the kitchen beautifully updated. We very much enjoyed our stay. The owner was helpful and responsive to questions.
Within walking distance to the world reknown Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Virginia State Historical Museum, the Virginia Childrens Museum and the Virginia Science Museum. Also you can walk to the state capital, Byrd Park, all the live theaters and the Richmond Art District. Richmond's best restaurants are all within walking distance.
