The cabin and location are perfect! We brought our kayak's and would go out on the Damariscotta River just about every day exploring an island in the distance or going along river with the lobster boats and seal's. We enjoyed several hiking trails near by and also did some mountain biking We also had a perfect view of the "4th of July" fireworks right from the docks of Boothbay Harbor which also had some very nice shops. It really was one of our best family vacations and Peter was the perfect host. You just don't get tired of the view sitting on the front porch with the different boats on the river. We're definitely planning to come back some time soon.
This cabin was a perfect place to stay for our week in Maine. The setting could not be more peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is in an excellent place to explore coastal Maine, up into the Camden hills, and south into Freeport. Peter was the perfect host, keeping our wood pile stocked for the cool evenings we had in mid September. Definitely a place we would come back to!
The cabin was just like in the pictures. The owner Peter arrived with an armful of fine wine and cheese. He was quite the host. We really enjoyed the toastey fire every night. The gorgous view from the cabin is breathtaking. We rented the cabin for our friends from Hawaii and even though it was cold they loved the whole package. We highly recommend this beautiful cabin for a wonderful Maine experiance.
Do not let the title deceive you. This place is unbelievable. The setting is amazing. You can see and hear the lobster boats at work in the river just a short distance away. The cabin sits right on the water. There is a lovely porch to sit on and a stone patio that sits right above the water. The cabin is like stepping back in time. It is beautifully decorated with interesting furnishings, and it is clean. It is a quiet setting and not that far from Boothbay, a charming town. The owner, Peter, was very helpful.
We had a great week exploring the area. We want to stay there again. Kitty
My wife and I have stayed here twice, once in late Sept. and once in June. What a fantastic time we had. The Sept. trip was cool but, with the fire place, just perfect with the advantage of seeing the foliage start to turn up the Damarascotta River which has to be one of the most beautiful waterways in America.
Peter, our host, couldn't have been more helpful. He even took us on a long boat ride.
The cabin, itself was even better than expected. The kitchen was huge and the whole decor, with period touches and modern conveniences was ideal.
