Your hosts, Kay and Glenn Dunn, want your stay at Pond Mountain Inn to be a memorable, enriching experience. Since assuming ownership of this quintessential Vermont bed and breakfast in October 2013, they have made thoughtful changes that retain the tradition and character of this exact replica of a 1800s Eyebrow Cape. These thoughtful improvements enable them to satisfy their guests’ highest standards and to confirm their commitment to extraordinary service and accommodations not normally found outside Dorset or Manchester.
Worldwide travelers for the past twenty years, Kay and Glenn have accumulated over five thousand night stays in hotels spread across five continents. This experience has informed their understanding of the attentive service and distinctive amenities that produce positive customer experiences. Thus, they are dedicated to offering their guests the same kind of service and experience they expect. It is their wish that every guest feels at home from the first moment of arrival to the (hopefully regretful) time of departure.
Glenn and Kay have been happily married for sixteen years, having met on a flight from Manila to Narita, Japan in August 1996. Kay was a Bangkok-based flight attendant for Northwest Airlines, and Glenn worked as an expatriate living in the Philippines. Three months after their first encounter, they held their first date at Shangri-La Hotel’s Cheval Blanc Restaurant in Manila. They married in Bangkok, Thailand in 1998 at Kay's family residence and again in New Jersey, United States in 2000.
Your hosts are honored that you have considered their bed and breakfast, and they are firmly committed to creating a relaxing, comfortable stay for you and your family. Their home is truly your home!
Glenn Dunn purchased this cottage in 2013
We wanted to return to New England and find a traditional antique reproduction home and property with expansive views. Our home rises from a country dirt-road nestled against lush Pond Mountain with dramatic neighboring views of Northeast Mountain – beyond the great lawn the property border to the north has visible remnants of a long-standing farmers stonewall that leads to our neighbor’s beautiful pond, expansive meadows and a distant antique farm house.
Our neighbors give us their Araucana or Ameraucana fresh bluish green eggs when available or we simply visit the local farm three miles from the property and pickup fresh milk, eggs and grass fed beef – just farther is where we buy our pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Still farther, we have available an abundance of organic meats, organic fruits & vegetables, artisan bread & cheeses. The experience is indescribable with unique offerings from each small town we visit. I almost expect to see Norman Rockwell standing next to me with his farmers’ basket of produce suitable for his next canvas.
Massive quartzite stone walls and patios to sit and enjoy magnificent views, Field stone walls, pond, short and long distance views. Landscaped property with several sitting areas to relax and enjoy the quiet countryside. Walking down the country road and hiking are a wonderful adventure. Great getaway!
Our family spent a week in the apartment loft and were amazed at the scenery outside the window. We watched the sunrise come up over the mountains every morning; it was just spectacular. The place was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and very homey. The hosts were SO nice and the breakfasts that they served were absolutely delicious! When we mentioned that we wanted to try snowshoeing, they recommended Hildene in Manchester, which was a perfect place to spend the day. We didn't want to leave, but we hope to go back again, maybe in the fall. Thank you, Glenn and Kay, for making our vacation so memorable!
Stayed for a couple nights, lucked into a cancellation, the hosts are truly lovely, the cottage was very nice, clean, quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
My husband and I stayed at the barn cottage for a memorial day get away. They had everything we could imagine wanting including toiletries, coffee for a keurig machine, beautiful kitchen and amazing views of the mountains. A beautiful basket of homemade goodies was there upon our arrival. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was spotless and very comfy. There was so much to do indoors and out. Going to go back for sure.
Enjoy beautiful mountain views while staying with us. Hike up local trails or take the bike trail through little villages, or enjoy swimming, boating and fishing at the state park on Lake St. Catherine. Golf and enjoy the bar/restaurant at the country club. Enjoy museums, and wineries and local farmer's markets and festivals in the area. Enjoy some tasty treats at the Wells country store in our quaint village of wells.
