Cortona Villa Rental Photos and Description
Villa Casper is a lovely example of a traditional stone farmhouse, completely detached and surrounded by its own grounds with a pretty private swimming pool and plenty of space for relaxing or dining al fresco. Immersed in the countryside there are fine views all around yet the beautiful Etruscan town of Cortona is only a short drive away.
The villa itself is typically Tuscan, with the exterior of the farmhouse characterized by pretty loggias, stone walls, a lovely brick external staircase and the interior retains original terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and traditional archways. Villa Casper is on two floors and is furnished in a simply yet homely style. The ground floor consists of a spacious living room with sitting area with wooden settee, armchairs, fireplace and archway leading to a dining area with large table and chairs. Off the living room is a fully equipped country style kitchen and there is also a double bedroom with ensuite shower room on this floor. Both the kitchen and the living room have patio doors leading onto the large paved terrace at the front of the house or the gardens. A staircase leads to the upper floor where there is a landing furnished with a settee, opening out onto a covered loggia terrace and external steps leading directly down into the garden below. On this floor there are two further double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with shower, one with bathtub. The villa is surrounded by its own grounds with lawns and colourful flowers framed by lovely cypress trees. In a sunny position in the garden is a private swimming pool (12m x 6m) perfect for a cooling dip or just relaxing whilst enjoying the atmosphere. The pool has a shallower section ideal for children and a gazebo with table and chairs for dining al fresco. Dotted around the grounds are other areas with table and chairs, as well as a built in barbeque. Parking is within the enclosed grounds and Wi Fi internet connection is available. Villa Casper is in a great location, within walking distance (approx 500m) of a little hamlet with a grocers shop for essentials, a local bar and restaurant and only 5 minutes drive away from the beautiful town of Cortona. There is plenty more to see and explore, Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese are both close by and Arezzo, infamous for its Piero della Francesca frescoes and Siena with its shell shaped Piazza del Campo square are both less than an hours` drive. The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few are also within easy driving distance as is Lake Trasimeno with its beaches, and ferry services to its islands.
