Reviewer Comments:
To address a previous review, the stove is gas but DOES work...the oven just runs hot, so keep an eye on your food and you'll be just fine. Dishwasher is portable but a snap to hook up and use. Location is GORGEOUS with rolling hills, a pretty church across the street, and quaint downtown Cedar just down the road. We liked the large number of bedrooms and thought the "maze"-ish set-up of the house was cool.

Reviewer Comments:
We LOVED the charm of the house - especially the ice cream parlor. The only thing I could say negative is that the bathrooms were a little dirty. The main bathroom has some mold. Also - there were quite a few beetles in the main bathroom. Overall though, the fact that we were together and that the house was so cool outweighed the little negatives. :)

Reviewer Comments:
The staff at the reservation office are professional and the rental was in good condition and very clean. In general, we had good time there. However, there were a few things can be improved: (1) the stove was very slow, (2) no instruction to where/how to connect the dish washer,we were unable to use it.

Reviewer Comments:
While the property boasts room for 16, there is no way you can prepare big meals. In the pictures it looks like you can cook in the defunct ice cream parlor. It is completely non functional. The propane stove in the kitchen is small -- the oven is practically useless. The barbecue grill is also way too small to cook for the number of people this place can accommodate. There was a broken window that looks like it has been broken for quite some time. There was a note that someone was going to fix it, but they never did. Some of the beds are adequate for comfort, others are lumpy. My brother and his wife said their bed was so "bouncy" that they kept rolling off the sides every time one of them moved. My nieces slept in the bunk beds and got their hair caught in the frames and ripped a shirt on something that was poking out of the box spring. Be sure to take garbage bags as an adequate number are not provided. Also, we were told that trash day is Wednesday. We arrived on Sunday and the trash bin outside was already full from the last visitors. The outdoor furniture is not high quality or very comfortable. Mostly benches and a few plastic type chairs. There were 2 metal chairs as well. There is no air-conditioning and the place was sweltering when we arrived. There were not enough fans for each room to have air circulation. When I called the rental company, they brought us 5 more fans in less than an half an hour. For that VISIT UP NORTH. COM GETS BIG KUDOS. The property is very old and rustic. It is laid out like the Winchester mansion -- addition after addition and steps that make no sense. NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY.
