Travel tips to Saas Fee and Chalet Renu:
Travel by car: There is no private car traffic in Saas Fee. Upon arrival drive straight into the Saas Fee parking to the baggage drop off area, and call a taxi from a free phone by the pillars. Have someone wait by the baggage while you park the car in the designated areas. The electro taxis are payable directly. There are also handcarts available for rent at the tourist office, located 300 m away from the parking garage in the direction of the village. Travel by bus: There is a Post bus connection from Visp to Saas Fee - approx. 30 min ride.

The Saas Valley and Saas Fee (elev. 1,800 m) stages a wide range of events in both summer and winter. In winter the emphasis is more on sports events. The covered car-park is converted into a stage for ice-climbers competing in the 'Ice-Climbing World Cup' in January every year. The Mittelallalin open downhill races draw a large crowd of sports enthusiasts every April to see out the season. There are also less grandiose events - such as hiking by the light of flaming torches or a hearty fondue at a romantic mountain hut. The musical highlights of the summer months are the 'International Alpine Music Festival' and the classical 'Saas-Fee Summer Festival' in Saas-Fee. Typical of the summer in the mountains are folklore and traditional events, summer concerts with costume and dance, alphorns, yodelling and music every week.
