I own two cottages side by side in Leland. I am a retired military officer and I've been coming here for nearly 60 years, the 4th generation of our family to vacation in this wonderful spot. I want others to be able to share the same expereicnes that I have loved in Leland.
This cottage was built in 2005 as additional overflow for our family which had outgrown our other cottage next door. This is the perfect solution so that we can all come up and enjoy the lake at the same time. My children and grandchildren have developed the same love for the lake that I have as well. Lake Leelanau is a 23 mile long lake with the south end near Traverse City and the north end is Leland. It's a great lake for boating, swimming, or just enjoying the water. One of the features I love best about the area is that much of the area has remained unchanged since my childhood..It's charming and simple.. the perfect place to relax for a family vacation.
You can do everything in the Leelanau Penninsula from our centrally located home! From boating to sailing, to swimming to sunbathing, from shopping to wine-tasting, to eatting and resting.... from hiking and biking, to golfing and running.. It's all here!! We spend hours on the lake having lunch and jumping in for a quick cool down. We have friends over and listen to music and watch the sunset over the water. We take day trips to Mackinac Island, Charlevoix, the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the Manitou Islands, numerous wineries, and Traverse City is just a 20-30 minute drive if you feel the pull of city life. Then after a days adventure, we come home at night to a happy home filled with memories and bliss.
