This flat has a large roof terrace above with dining, food prep and barbecue above. The views from the flat are of the Topkapki Palace and the Bosphorus. The views from the roof terrace are AMAZING! Rent alone or combine with one of our other 3 flats that share the roof terrace, 2 are on the same floor, 1 studio flat just above this apartment.
I am a travel writer who prefers to stay in apartments in 'real' neighborhoods located near tourist areas, but purposely outside of the main tourist haunts in order to give me the feeling of actually living in the place I am visiting. I've chosen my favorite homes away from home in my favorite cities around the world. This apartment - Terrace Two in Istanbul - is one of them.
There is a charming Turkish cafe in the lobby of the building. Room service with just a call!
Terrace Two is one of 4 flats in the same building, 3 on one floor, and a small studio apartment/or extra bedroom on the floor above. You can mix and match the flats according to your needs. You may add our Terrace Four studio flat one floor above to create a 4th bedroom and 2nd bathroom. Photos for this studio flat can be sent on request.
Configuration of the Terrace Two flat: 2 enclosed bedrooms, and 1 curtained off alcove/bedroom with twin beds. The studio flat above, which may be added for an additional $80 per night) has a single bed and a double futon, it's own kitchen and a large bathroom. Great views and adjacent to the roof terrace.
Large modern kitchen and separate dining room. One bathroom with marble shower, washer & dryer & sink. Toilet is in a separate room with antique Turkish tiles.
The location of our Galata Terrace flats is excellent for dining and entertainment and easy access to all the sites. You can see many of the sites from the terrace! Terrace Two sleeps 6 in beds (one bed is a double, one queen, one king/or 2 twins), 8 including foldout couch, but a bit small for 8. If you add the studio apartment upstairs, it will sleep up to 11.
Great neighborhood! You can steer clear of the carpet salesmen and tour guides while being close enough to Sultanahmet to visit when you want to. Best of all you can sit on the roof terrace and enjoy a view of Sultanahmet that is unsurpassed. All around you are surrounded with Turkish charm - a mix of modern and traditional. One block away is the Galata Tower - the Coit Tower of Istanbul. Many restaurants and tea gardens line this square.
A 5 min walk uphill puts you in the best dining area in all of Istanbul. Istiklal is a 2-mile pedestrian walkway with many off-alleys full of outdoor cafes and meyhanes. Just 10 min walk down hill puts you on the Galata Bridge across which you can walk to the Egyptian Spice Market or take a short ride on the tram to the Grand Bazaar or many other sites.
The rooftop terrace includes a sink and food prep area with running water, a barbeque and a large outdoor seating area for dining and entertaining under the stars surrounded by a picture perfect postcard view of old Istanbul and the regal Bosphorus.
These flats are located on the 5th floor of a building without an elevator.
The area and building are safe. And the views are just about the best you'll find anywhere in the city.
You'll love this flat!
Rates are for up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $20 more per night.

Love this area. Bustling with activity, perfectly located in the center of everything one might want to do in Istanbul. There is a charming Turkish cafe in the lobby from which you can order room service during the hours they are open. A historical area that is slowly being gentrified and retains just enough 'old' Istanbul while giving options for the best dining and entertainment in Istanbul.
Views, and close proximity to all the sites. I love being able to walk everywhere from here - or take a quick easy (and cheap) cab ride or tram to wherever I want to go. And the stairs to the flat insure that I leave Istanbul in better physical shape than when I arrived!
This apartment was amazing and exactly like the photos-this doesn\'t always happen! We were six and had ample room, it was clean and fresh and a great location with the tram at the bottom of the street, and then just a bit further across the Galata bridge is the metro line. We mostly ate out so didn't use the kitchen much but it had all you would need. The bathroom was nice-not too much room but shower was huge compared to some, and it was nice having a seperate toilet.
Can't think of anything except the kids would have liked a lift for the 5 flights of stairs!
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights and loved the location. The apartment had great views of the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, and Topaki Palace also very close to public transport. It was clean and we were met by a very friendly and helpful manager. The only disadvantage was the stairs but we are a fit family so it did not bother us too much. Highly recommend it is in a great neighbourhood.
We stayed in the large apartment for eight days with two young children aged 6 & 9 years old. Davide the manager was always responsive arranged an airport transfer. When we arrived at the airport we had to wait about an hour to find out who has come to pick us up which was not ideal after a long flight. The location of the apartment was great because all the major tourist attractions were close-by. The view is very nice from the roof terrace but you have to be extremely fit because the location of the apartment is up on the hilly road plus it's on the 5th floor. After a long day out we always dreaded to return to the flat. The toilet in the apartment definitely needs a complete makeover because the rest of the apartment is up-to the standard. We had plenty of time to explore Istanbul City & the location of the apartment made it easier for us.
Very nice contact via email. Appartment as described! Clean, well maintained, very good location, beautiful terrace, breathtaking view. Manager very helpful. I We would love to come back!!! And we recommend this appartment to all our friends!
We are a small group of 6 persons (2 couples and 2 women) and we stayed in flat 2 and flat 4 for 9 nights in August 2013. We had a wonderful time there. The flats are spacious and well -maintained. The managers, Elif and Davide and the owner, Robin, were very helpful and answered all questions and concerns in several e-mails we wrote before our arrival.
The building is a typical Istanbul house in a very good location close to restaurants and shops. But there is one thing to mention - there is no elevator. You have to be in a good condition to walk up and down 5 floors several times during the stay. But after some days of doing this daily exercise you`ll feel fit.
But the best of the flats is the gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace. We didn`t spend much time in the apartments because of the beautiful terrace. There is enough room for everybody. Maybe the owner of the flats could put one or two tables and some chairs onto the terrace for more people to sit in the morning at breakfast time or in the evening at sunset.
We recommend this property to our friends and we`ll stay there again when we go to Istanbul.
Fancy seeing Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque from your home? This is the place for you. The location near Galata Bridge and Istiklal Caddesi is perfect; the tramway to the major sights is minutes away. The flat was clean, big enough for the six adults in our group, and had the necessary amenities. Davide was an attentive host and all details were well taken care of. Do make use of the car service to the airport. All in all a fabulous value and the place I will return to on my next visit.
We have been in your accomodations the second time. The Last time we habe been there 14 persons. We rented three apartments and we had a wonderful staying there. The apartments were well equipped and very comfortable. But the terace upstairs with its superb view we enjoyed the most.
Also Davide and elif are both very helpful in any Situation. Ist was not the last we had been there.
It is a location we recommend warmly to everybody.
Thank your very much
Muallâ Tomruk and family and friends
