My husband and I have lived at 20 Dearborn St. for 11 years. I grew up in Salem and attended public schools, Penn State, received a Master's at Simmons College in Boston and an advanced certificate at Cordon Bleu, London. My husband, Frank graduated from Brown University; is a great photographer and has captured our home for you to see.

Why Brenda Marean chose Salem
Salem is a unique city, on the move in the 21st century; our Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) is world renowned featuring an authentic house brought from China and installed by Chinese craftsmen. Historic Chestnut Street features the exquisite homes of Salem's wealthy sea captains many designed by Samuel Mc Intire; the Mc Intire district self guided walking tour begins 5 minutes from our home. In addition Salem has one of the finest collection of Federalist homes, many surrounding the Salem Common - a 10 minute walk from our home. The waterfront area, about 15-20 minute's walk, features the Friendship Indiaman merchant vessel, a replica of the 1797 original, berthed at the center of the National Maritime Historic site. There you will also see the Elias Derby house, the Custom House and the House of the 7 Gables, made famous in Nathaniel Hawthore's book of the same name. There are any number of fabulous restaurants, bistros, pubs and take out venues in many price ranges in the area.
For a change of scenery, the commuter rail can take you south to Boston or north to the famed Rockport Gloucester areas; each about a 30 minute trip. Marblehead, the sailing capital of the East is about a 10 minute drive.
What makes this apartment unique
My husband and I love our home and enjoy sharing it with guests and visitors to our area; the lovely neighborhood, proximity to downtown Salem, Rtes. 95 and 128, commuter rail, historic district and other beautiful surrounding towns to say nothing of the Great Halloween celebrations during October make it a perfect place to live and visit!
