My husband and I moved to the North Florida area 16 years ago. We moved from Fort Lauderdale, desiring a more family oriented area to raise our family. We fell in love with the marshes, the old oak trees with Spanish moss, and the natural beauty of the Ponte Vedra Beach/Saint Augustine communities.

As native Floridians, we are very familiar with the entire state and truly believe Saint Augustine to be one of the most beautiful.

Debbie Raab purchased this house in 2005

Although this property is new to Homeaway, it is not new to hospitality. For the past 8 years, this home has been serving fellow church member families, missionaries, pastors, and other ministry related guests. It will continue to serve in this capacity, but will also be available to others wishing to experience St. Augustine in a warm, friendly, comfortable manner.

This home provides easy accessibility to all of the unique sites in the downtown historic St. Augustine area. However, it is nestled in the midst of a quaint tree lined street that is a little piece of Americana....neighbors that know one another and take the time to stand on the front porch and chat a while...

Upon checking in, you will find a copy of the history of our home. We had the privilege to meet the great granddaughter and granddaughter of the man who built the house. We have a full history of the house and how it relates to the neighborhood as a whole....This home is truly special....It is not the picture of all the modern luxuries...It is a mix of old and new and it is clean...We love our home and hope you do too!!!

EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED

  • 5 of 5
My sisters & I rented this house for a long weekend to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. It was perfect; the house is lovely and beautifully maintained. The living areas are spacious - actually larger than the pics here show - ideal for get-togethers with family/friends. We cooked dinner 2 nights and had plenty of room for six in the dining room. Though several reviews have mentioned the porch, I must chime in also - it is awesome! We used it as an extra room (a great reading spot), as well as a nice backdrop for many family photos.

The house is truly a 10 minute (or less) walk to the downtown/fort area. Do make sure to try the French pastry shop around the corner - amazing! Our favorites were the veggie crepes and the crisp apple tart pastries - SO good!

This is a perfect home base for family vacations - a huge step up from cramped hotel rooms. In addition, the owners were very helpful in answering questions quickly and offering to assist with any special requests before we arrived. We will certainly visit again and recommend to all family/friends staying in the area.

GREAT HOUSE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING!

  • 5 of 5
I stayed here with my girlfriends last weekend and we loved it! The house had great character and the beds were really comfortable (even the bunk beds!). The house was a quick 10 minute walk to the Fort and historic areas so we didn't have to drive anywhere except the beach which was very convenient. There is one reserved parking space behind the house but there was plenty of street parking for additional cars. Overall, my party had a great experience. I would definitely come back!

GREAT STAY

  • 4 of 5
Myself and 2 friends just returned home from St. Augustine after an extended weekend. The day of our arrival, the owner called to ensure all was well and was fantastic making sure we were happy with our stay. Convenient location - 10 minute or less walk to the center of town. I would give 5 stars but make it 4 1/2 - I am in agreement with a few others. Even though we were out and about quite a bit, maybe a small flat screen TV downstairs somewhere would be nice. Would definitely stay again though. Liked the old house charm. Thank you!

PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5
I rented this lovely home for my wedding taking place in St. Augustine. There were 6 adults and 2 children and we were very comfortable, the house is much more spacious than it looks in the photos. We put together the floral arrangements for our centerpieces together on the beautiful front porch. The french pastry shop around the corner is a MUST! The croissants are to die for!!! Just about everything is in walking distance which is super convenient. Chris and Debbie were great to do business with and just as nice as they could be. Thank you for sharing your comfy and cozy home with us! We will definitely be back in the future.

STAY IN ST. AUGUSTINE

We enjoyed the convenience into the old town. The house was clean and well maintained. The front porch added another relaxing atmosphere to the weekend. Also, we REALLY loved there was no TV. Just old fashioned conversations, reading, and games!
