Gorgeous, Spacious, Double Master Suites, Expansive View, Golf Cart!
This immaculate home with 4 bedrooms, each with a private bath, is ideal for two small families or up to four couples. Nestled in a quiet, lush setting out front with wide open water views out back, you’ll love the open floor plan with two living areas, one on each floor. Quality architectural and decorative detail is evident in every room from the heavy crown molding to the light filtering blinds. Beautifully furnished and decorated, the open floor plan, high ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, and wall of view facing windows mean this home is always bright and beachy!
The main floor living area flows to the dining area and kitchen to make a great gathering space. A wall of windows captures the serene view across of acres of tidal marsh to the ocean in the distance. A thoughtful detail, the dining table and chairs are counter height so you can really take in the view. The adjacent kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and tableware and even the cook has a great view! An open deck stretches the width of the rear of the home and connects to a screened porch that also can be accessed from the main floor master bedroom.
The beautiful main floor master is off of the living area and features a king bed, cable television, direct access to the screened porch, and a large en suite bath with jetted soaking tub and a separate shower. A full size laundry room with a washer, dryer, and utility sink is conveniently located off of the main hallway and also accessible from the master bath.
The main floor guest bedroom is situated quietly apart from the living area. A new queen bedroom suite perfectly fits the space, providing a cozy retreat complete with a flat screen cable television. This bedroom opens directly to a full bath with tub shower combination. The bath can be closed off with the bedroom to make a private suite, or left open for access from the main hallway by other guests.
The second floor living area—the loft—offers the most spectacular views in the home. You will be amazed at the beauty of the endless vista of tidal marsh and creek stretching to the ocean on the far horizon. The loft includes a 42” high definition flat screen television with an extended cable package, a DVD player and an I Pod docking station.
Each of the second floor bedrooms is accessed off of the loft, and each bedroom has a private bath. The second floor master, with fun touches of France, is nicknamed the “Paris Room” and offers a queen bed and cable television. The guest bedroom on the opposite side of the loft offers two twin beds, cable TV, and a private bath. A dormer window in each bedroom brings in lots of light and a private view.
Included with your rental is use of the large gas grill ideally situated on the main floor back deck. Enjoy your favorite beverage while soaking in the views and grilling dinner! This quiet and private setting is not walking distance to the beach so for your convenience and enjoyment a golf cart is provided for the 5 minute ride to the nearest boardwalk. Please be sure to charge the cart at night after use so it will be ready for you the next day. Bicycle rentals also are available on Harbor Island for reasonable rates through the Beach and Racquet Club.
Harbor Island offers a quiet setting with 2.5 miles of natural beach with a gentle slope. Wrapped by the Harbor River, Saint Helena Sound, the Atlantic Ocean, and Johnson’s Creek, the vistas are always changing. Designated an Audubon Important Bird Area, Harbor Island is home and host to a myriad of bird life including nesting egrets in the lagoon areas where you can sometimes glimpse a gator. Fishing is allowed from the beach, and the Island has a crabbing dock. Right across the Harbor River Bridge, Gay Seafood brings in fresh fish and shrimp. If you’d rather have the cooking done for you, The Shrimp Shack is just across the street from Gay’s. A long local tradition, it serves up mainly fried fresh seafood and simple fare available for takeout or to eat there on the picnic tables. Less than a quarter mile in the other direction is another long established casual restaurant, Johnson’s Creek Tavern, known locally as JCT. A combination bar and restaurant, you will find people of every age there enjoying meals or drinks indoors or on the outside decks, or listening to the live music occasionally offered. Many other restaurant options ranging from fast food to fine dining are available on nearby Saint Helena Island, Lady’s Island, and in Beaufort. Beaufort itself is 14 miles from Harbor Island (you will pass right through on your way to the Island). A charming historic town, you can easily spend a day or two just exploring the downtown historic and the Bay Street area shopping district, strolling the waterfront park that stretches along the Intracoastal Waterway, browsing art galleries and taking in a horse and carriage ride or perhaps a dolphin watching cruise on the Beaufort River.
