We've loved this log cottage for years and when the owners decided to sell their much loved summer home, we were blessed to buy it for our children. It's still a few years away before they will use it, so we are renting it out so that it will still be enjoyed. Every year, we spend Christmas day there as an ongoing tradition and we can't imagine a more perfect setting. What a treat! A wonderful family occasion with a roaring fire, board games, laughs and hot chocolate!

Nature at her best, white majestic pines, clean lake/river, privacy yet only 3 miles from town, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, peace & quiet, marshmallow roast, BBQ, history, museum, art gallery, hiking trails, good & inexpensive golf. And we could go on!

Thank you so much for having this little getaway available for our family. We have 3 boys (9,4,17 months) and the all experienced a lot of firsts. We enjoyed it so much we hope to be back some day to explore the area some more ... And of course play in the water!

Great Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5
A beautiful cottage situated in a lovely private setting! The cottage was well stocked with every possible necessity – you really could arrive here with clothes, food and your toothbrush and be complete satisfied. We hiked and biked the many miles of trails which are nearby - which really give a wilderness feeling – but the cottage is still just a few minutes from all the conveniences of town. Don’t miss the nearby Eau Claire Gorge trail – the scenery is definitely worth the hike. A lovely place. Book it! You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect gem of a cottage. Private, quiet, location. Beautiful scenery. Cottage very welcoming and well equipped. Lots of opportunities to hike, canoe and fish or just sit and read a book. Appreciated the carport for loading and unloading regardless of the weather. Used the canoe rack for our canoe when we were off touring the area.
5th visit to Mattawa area....very best accomodation! Thank you for a great week.

So beautiful and so much fun!!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I had a blast staying at this cottage in Mattawa. It's the best location on the lake (right at the end so no boat traffic and only one neighbour who's pretty far away, all other sides are forest). We caught a bunch of pickerel off the dock, spent time exploring some little islands in a canoe and hiked
up to the cross down the lake. We even brought our mountain bikes and took a ride to the mica mines. The cottage itself is exactly what I was hoping for - peaceful, beautiful and clean! Thanks Tina for being so accommodating! Can't wait to come back next year with the nieces and nephews they'll love the beach!
